Please could anyone tell me what weight oil to use in the Revo Integy MSR6 piggyback shocks?

The instructions state to use 90w in the front & 110w in the rear?

I used 50w all round in the standard gtr shocks.

Any help would be appreciated

The shock pistons are different on those, that's why the oil wt is heavier. Start with what they recommend.

I ordered traxxas bigbore shocks and i believe they come with 30wt. is that good to use or should i buy a different type? I'm running a T-maxx 3.3

I would go with what they recommend. Comparing Revo shocks to any other MT is like apples to oranges. The forces and leverage on the shocks is very different compared to a traditional upright setup.

I tried it with 90wt all round & the rear is just soooo soft its nasty.

Gonna have to use 130-140wt but it's almost impossible to get in the UK :(

That's rediculous. I'm sorry, but that may be another example of Integy's inconsisant product line. I can't imagine why they would design a shock may need oil that heavy. Heck, you'll be putting diff oil in it pretty soon.

You know.. I was thinking... You said it was "soft" at the rear. Are you sure you don't need stiffer springs back there?

If you only have the springs which come with them it would be Blue springs and red springs, use the blue in the rear and red in the front. Also are you certain all the air was out of them. Any air trapped in there will leave a pocket with no fluid which in essence your truck will act like there is no fluid in them. Remember the fluid doesn't actually stiffen the ride its only purpose is to slow the re-action of the spring so it doesn't compress and extend as fast, the springs are what stiffens the ride.

I put 100wt in the rear & it seems a load better, could prob do with 110wt but i was hitting some big jumps at the weekend & it was landing great. Just so plush, no bottoming out at all.

I can't see the additional 10 making that big of a difference you might have had air trapped in the shock the first time.

instead of going with a thicker fluid for the rear shocks you can change the disc on the shock rod too... if you have the discs in there that integy puts in from the factory they should be the 2 hole version... try getting some 1 hole discs from your LHS ... that will work to stiffen the ride also

I wasn't aware that they did a single hole piston for these shocks.

I take it that the pistons from the standard gtr shocks don't fit?

Well the instructions said to fill the rears with 110wt & the front with 90wt.

I've now got 100wt in the rear & 80 wt in the front. The front is perfect & the rear still a little soft so i think i should just have done what the instructions said & there would have been no issue.

I dont think that integy do any harder springs for the rear & i'm of the opinion that any stiffer & they would be OTT.

i dont know if the gtrs will fit or not... there should be someway to get a 1 hole piston in there... or just go to a thicker fluid i guess.... i am running 150 weight in my rear integys right now.... seem just about right

the guys that sold me mine gave me 40!! WT could that explain why all the seals leak?
