So i'm about to buy a new infrared thermometer for my tuning. If anyone can tell me what kind of gun I should get that's be great. I want something that works cause I got one from local hobby shop that was junk. I returned it the next day. Any Idea's?

I have a DuraTraxx Temp Gun.. It's nothing too fancy it's a pretty basic one & small & takes a watch style battery... My gun read's up to like 400 I beleve... Simple operation too just point it @ engine head push the button & there's your Temp.. I have my gun now a few years & it works like a charm... Keep fresh batt's in it & I am good to go...

What kind of Gun did you return to HS & what was the gun doing or NOT doing you did not like.....

+1 I've had a Duratrax temp gun for close to 10 years, went through a couple batteries on it but it seems to work well. Cheap enough, simple and just works. What more to ask for?

My bro bought one of those laser dot ones from harbor freight. it reads from a good distance and it was cheap. I think you have to calibrate it to read anodized alum. He seems to like it. My duratrax one has worked great for several years. I would recommend it to anyone.:D

I like the duratrax flashpoint due to the fact it can be calibrated to your particular cooling head.
