i havent seen anyone yet here or any forum personally that has one so can't say, but I've been impressed with kyosho in the past though.

Yeah, I saw that too. The vehicle seems similar to the Traxxas Slayer as far as handling etc. Goes. It's 4WD like it too.
 
I have one and can get pics up this weekend. only had it about a week but love it so far not any problems yet just some gripes with the body pins in the back you can't get the clips out because it is right next to the body. I would buy one again if i had the choice.
 
no not yet but am going to get to the track soon as I get some free time.

The Kyosho DRT is a little smaller than the Slayer/Slash and much smaller than the SC8. The SC8 is being based on the RC8T chassis with RC8 suspension.

The DRT comes with the Kyosho .18 engine with side exhaust and basic tuned pipe. It uses Kyosho's typical bottom engine mount system and doesn't use typical engine mounts so to change engines you will need the available engine mount set from Kyosho.

The DRT is based on the DST/DBX cars and has a lot of features in common with a 1/8 scale buggy in a smaller package:

  • .18 side exhaust engine
  • F/R pivot ball suspension
  • Flat plate style chassis with front/rear braces (its a mini 1/8 scale)
  • F/R tuneable gear diffs
  • Tuneable center diff with plastic spur gear
  • 1/8 scale threaded shocks borrowed from the IGT2 (softer springs)

The tires that come on this truck are a little smaller than the typical SC tires on the market. The suspension is also very stiff from the factory (1/8 scale shocks and a light truck...). If you are a smooth track racer or a pavement freak, this will be ideal for you.

For track duty IMO the DRT is a nice machine. It corners flat and handles very nicely allbeit a little stiff for most outdoor tracks.

Has anyone found any good hop ups for the DRT?

Excuse me but how is the price high. The sc8 is like $500, the slayer is $380 and the ofna nitro sc10 is $270 just a rolling chasi. Its by far the cheapest nitro SC from a good company cause I think two crappy company's make nitro ones but I wouldn't trust x-ceed and one I can't think of. So if money is the issue then this by far way cheaper and better performance. I have a revolution with the works and this thing killed my revo and I have put over $1000 into

Go back and read his post again.

He states that the price is too high for HIM. He is not complaining about the price in any way.
