Sorry if this is the wrong forum but considering the GT is made on a buggy platform, I wanted to probe the group's thoughts.

I just purchased a Inferno GT. Does anybody have any experience with this car? Do you know if the stock steering servos will do, I read the May 06 review in RC Car and they dont specifically mention if there are any problems with the steering servos except that they are 70 oz + at 60 deg.

Any advise on what are good 1/8 on road tires for this car? I have some medial pros I can use and noticed that tower is selling these wheels and tires-any idea if they are any good:

They come in soft or medium.

Any other advise, I am going to try and make any alternations before running it. Thanks!

I don't know much about it, but can you please let me know how you like it when you drive it? I know someone looking to purchase one. Do you plan to put offroad tires on it and take if offroad, or just stick with onroad for it?

I will try both, according to the review on RC Car the stock tires will wear out in 1-2 runs.

Will do.

Yea the stock tires look awful, I'm sure those tires you linked to should be fine. not sure if proline makes the road rages for buggies anymore but if they do that would be another set to look into. jw, what body did you get and do you have any pics? Thanks.

I got the Aston Martin body, I do have picks, will post it. AC, do you think I need to change the steering servo on this? Normally I would but the review said the servos were updated and since this not a buggy per se, who knows. I can't tell from a dry test, and dont know if it will make a difference in an actual run or if I'm taking too much of a risk. The construction and design look solid, very sturdy, even has a 2 speed.

The Proline Roadrage is available for 16.99 for 2 at Tower. I also have the Medial Pros 45 shore and 35 shore and a set of Taranzu Grip tires (made in Asia).

If I was you I would change it, but it doesn't necessarily need to be changed. I don't know what kind of servo it came with so idk for sure. It would best to have a pretty quick and torqy metal gear servo in there, it will make the car handle better. I don't know if the stock servo is plastic gear, if it is it will most likely strip out if you take it off road.

I've heard the Roadrage is a great onroad tire.

One of my local friends has one of these. He is using the stock steering servo and it works fine. The steering servo doesn't take the abuse that a buggy would since it spends all it's time on road, so I would wait until it goes out before replacing it.

The stock tires are great for drifting on the pavement. Are you looking for a tire with maximum wear or maximum traction?

Maximum traction, I heard that not all tires and wheels fit on this car despite the 17mm hub, is that true? Inferno GT tire specs:

Tire Size: (F/R) 3.58 in. x 1.88 in. (91mm x 48mm)

Seems the Inferno GT wheels are shorter and wider, coming in at 4.8cm wide.

OFNA makes a 17mm 1/8 buggy on road set that is:

Width: 1.6" (42mm) Diameter: 4" (102mm)

On another matter, I was told that this car stock does not shift, do you know if true? RC Car Action mag reviewed the GT in May and their test car shifted almost instantly, basically starting in second gear. They said you have to take the tranny out and turn the screw that controls the shift clockwise a quarter turn or more. A mild pain in the arse it says. This will delay the shift. Another person I read said that according to Kyosho one can adjust the trans using a ball end allen key WITHOUT taking anything apart. There is a hole on the brake \trans upper plate, you just need to turn the trans untill you see the adjustment screw. Unfortunately, I have no idea what either of them are talking about, do you guys?
