I'll probably be glad to own one when I get back from Panama, but then again, there's nothing I have not broken yet... Though, the savage comes close to not breaking.

El - you have to shoot me some pointers on places to go in Panama. Looks like I am going there in a couple of months to scout out a facility to open another office. Never been there so I need your input.

Also, how is the mentality with Americans there right now?!?!?!

You mean Americans like as in the people who live in the US or Americans who live in Central AMERICA? Whereabouts are you going inh Panama? If you stay in Panama City things are just like any other city in the world where there are places safe after dark and places dangerous.

If you are going into the Darien Province I would highly advise saving a couple of mill for your family to pay off the guerillas who could snatch you. Darien is a bad place, stay away if you want to live. It's on the border of Panama/Colombia but it is really unlikely your company will be starting some sort of networking stuff there.

More than likely you will be in either Panama City, Colon or David, the 3 largest cities in the country. I lived in Colon for 4 years and most regard it as a bad place but it's home for me. However after my trip remind me and I'll give you some live intel on the entire country. I'll have 21 days to re-explore the entire country.

I meant as in the mainland Americans.

I'm going to take your pointers today to work and let them know ;)

THANK YOU!

Do you guys have a planned area where you are going? Panama City would be the best or near Zona Libre (Free Zone) in Colon. In David, and the surrounding areas, you will find a greater population of English speaking since a great many retired Military and Zonians have pitched their tents there. You will also find some really great US style places to eat and shop rather than the tourist trap type of places.

Another thing about David, while being a scenic trip from Panama City it literally is about 7 - 9 hours of intense driving from Panama City not for the weak hearted common US driver. I've made the trip several times but that was after being in the country a year or so and understanding the people's driving style. You will find a great many Panamanians truly believe "blind curves are ideal for passing." It's only an hour or so by plane from Panama City to David.

Driving to Colon only takes about an hour or an hour and a half, depending on the traffic and the number of accidents you could (I didn't say would) encounter. The drive is generally just enough of Panama driving for most people from the US to understand the different driving style there is in Panama. Plus the road side scenery can be rather appealing to the eyes, especially in the morning when the women are all dressed up to go to work, ay carumba...

If you guys are not fluent Spanish speaking I also would suggest paying a translator because while all the tour books state English is spoken by most none of the locals I ever saw spoke much English. It was just easier to speak Spanish rather than trying comprehend some of the broken English I heard, which I found trying to understand broken English more difficult than just speaking Spanish and communicating the easy way.

he bought the sport version. It's a good basher, but it has a few racing issues. the chassis is thinner than the normal MP 7.5. the design is not counter sunk for better CG (normal MP7.5 is). the stock engine runs a little hot. (.......) many of the standard mp 7.5 parts don't fit.

RobH - your post has some issues dude, you need to check your facts.

First things first. EVERYTHING on the Kanai 1/2 and Regular kits will fit any of the sports editions. Every single 7.5 is completely and utterly upgradeable to higher specs - its just a matter of throwing money at them.

Secondly - the chassis isnt any thinner than the other 7.5's (Sports, Readyset, Regular, Kanai1/2 are all 3mm thick), and on the Sports RTR, I have been told that it is a quality aluminium chassis. (I have heard that the original Sports chassis can bend, but apparently the new blue chassis is stronger/better)

Third. What in the name of jesus does countersinking have to do with CG (center of gravity..). And on the topic - all 7.5 chassis's are countersunk, with the exception of the sideguard screws - and once again, this is consistant throughout each model of the 7.5.

Just clearing things up
- uDi
