RC Driving Style
I hate people that get Nitro RC's for just the coolness feature that don't Know anything about RC before they get it Most people at least know the bare essentials.

The people I am talking about are the scum I guess you could say of RC... The people that run thiear car bring it home and don't do any maintenance to it.. don't even clean the airfilter (providing they have the required stuff) ........


well KoRnKiD has a friend that has a maxx.. He actually came to our first bash (mine and kk's [his maxx was broken]).. well anyway He just got it fixed (new engine) and his maxx is in the worst shape I have ever thought about.. no oil in the shocks, Covered in nitro grime/ months worth of gunk...
and to top it off he runs it WITHOUT the AIRFILTER..... I think he should get rid of his maxx now and get an electric he can trash because I don't care about that... Well I can't stand the thought of buying a 400 dollar RC and not taking care of it... just had to voice my opinion and I am looking forward to hearing yours
 
not useing an air filter is stupid. by the time he most likey finds it he'll be throu 5 engines. what a retard:hehe:
 
Its not incompetence its just plain old stupidity! I bet he did not buy this truck himself, if he did he might have a little more respect for it. I have alot of money in mine and I spend alot of time cleaning it after EVERY time I run it. My a/f gets cleaned and oiled every time, the tank is emptied and after run oil is always used. I also give it a quick once over looking for any broken or questionable parts, and for any loose hardware. A little preventative maintenence can save you a ton of money in repairs later.
 
I got my rc car without knowing anything about rc's except that I've wanted one for a long time. I take very good care of mine i clean it after every run, use after run oil every time and do all proper maintenece. I dont think it right to say that if you dont know anything about it you should not get one its just that some people are ignorant and dont learn as they get into the hobby. The first car you got Maxxcrazy88 did you know all about it or did you learn once you got your car and started in the hobby. However it pisses me off that people dont take care of thier equip. but anyone can do it not just newbies.
 
What i hate is people who dont mantain there stuff then show up with it broke want you to fix it using your parts .

Just not my idea of fun ill bash with that kind of person once then see ya never again

Wow I am one of the incompetent Scum of the R/C world. I feel so unloved. Man I don't clean my R/C every time I run it. I also don't use after run after every run. Example I turn it off on Saturday night and know I am gonna run the next day I don't even bother sometimes. I almost NEVER clean my filter when I get home I clean it before I go out to run the next time. Man you made some serious aaccusations there. You should look up the definition of

Because its pretty evident from your claims you don't know what incompetence is.. here is websters definition...
.Not qualified in legal terms: a defendant who was incompetent to stand trial.
.Inadequate for or unsuited to a particular purpose or application.
.Devoid of those qualities requisite for effective conduct or action.

So by websters definition since I don't clean my truck after every run or use after run every time or don't clean my filter on your schedule I am incompetent .. Wow thanks for informing me...
The reason I never clean my filter when I get home is I normally do it the night before I run when I put all my batteries on the charger.. thats just one of the reasons I am incompetent.. Thanks for sharing..X
 
I think NCNitro said it the best. If a person does not have a vested interest in their RC, then they do not normally take as great a care of it. Those who have had to work hard hours to finance their RC habit tend to take better care of their RCs since they do not want to have to spend more money to repair something proper maintenance and care could prevent from breaking.

Since there is no one right way or schedule to maintaining an RC, I think it is rather presumptuous of you to make the statement that all people that meet your criteria are scum. I think X made this point pretty clearly. We all have different ways and schedules for keeping our rigs in top running order.

Those that are brand new to the hobby are perhaps not completely in the know on all the things that this hobby demands. Perhaps you should take some time to educate your new basher on the proper way to care for his RC and the "hop-ups" he should get to keep it alive longer. You might find that he is greatful for the information.

If he still acts ignorant, then let him kill his toy and you enjoy running yours. Just don't waste too much time or parts from your stash to keep him running.
 
Sorry I got a little too into detail I am talking about the guys that NEVER do this .. as for the airfilter I meant NEVER clean it as in not once since they got thier RC... Same with maintenance

TWIZTIDNINJA I'm sure you did know and planned to care for your RC when you got it.. I am talking about people who don't even know the difference between Nitro RC and Radioshack...

NCNitro you said it!! I do seriously think he didn't pay for it himself and preventative maintenance can go a LONG!!!!! way..... Guess how he ruined the first engine..... No A/F go figure....

I didn't pay for my RC but I might as well have because it is cleaned thouroughly after every run.. all maitenance but god this is an awesome hobby and I am glad I have had the privilege to get into it..

if there is something wrong with my truck it is not run... on the other hand My cousin's brick ( E rusty) has one wore out and one missing rear bushing and the steering is being held together with a cotter pin but he is still running it.... he got his for christmas and very rarely does any maintenance to it... I guess you could say that I did pay for my maxx because all the money into it was given to me by my parents or other relatives (grandparents rule) and I have upwards of $800 in it already (500 for truck 300 extra) so I veiw it as money I spent on it and I want this truk to last.... :madface:

ya he really dosent take care of his maxx. God he is paying me 10.00 to fix his maxx and clean it up this thing is just a money PIT . He has just baught a O.S. engine for it and he dosent put a air filter on it i always remind about it but he dosent care. The reason he broke his old engine was because he didnt run it with the air filter. Plus he tried to rebuild it and soaked it in the wrong stuff. We were jumping his for the fun of it when he came over and every time he jumped it the exhaust pipe came loose from the header and he dosent care about that he goes ohh well. I go ohh well you are just recking your car. He goes well my dad can fix it. And to top it off he wants to get a job at a hobby shop. God i can go on for hours about this kid. Ill try to get pics up here pretty soon if my camere dosent give me more crap
 
I think somebody here said, If you take your truck out and break less than $20 worth of parts, you're not driving it right.

I'de like to add, If you take your truck out for two hours and you spend two munites putting it away, you're not looking after it with respect.

The ones that run 'em to the ground are the same ones who would borrow mom and dads car and wreck it showing off to their friends. It's not just limited to their toys, It's more like a personality defect. Nothing a vacation away from the folks money can't fix.
 
that's definetly true... I have never broken my maxx but I do not baby it either.... I love to run in muddy areas and so on but I usually stay out of large puddles of water and so on.... (unlike KK who drowned his out in a mud puddle) I have well over 40 dollars in replacement parts I take with me to every bash so I can do quick fixes in the feild :cheerful: oh and I always spend at least an hour cleaning/ doing ater run maintenance on my maxx.
 
same thing here and mc you always baby your maxx so shut up rember you were afraid to drag me and when we did i won but that dosent matter anyway just looking at my friends maxx just makes me want to hurl

Man I could not agree more!

Out of the three of you it sounds like MC takes much better care of his truck. When you are sitting around watching him run, you guys (KK and mr no filter) will be crying and wishing you had taken better care of your stuff. KK you always give MC crap about babying his truck, if he runs it as hard as he feels comfortable with, and continues to take good care of it, he will have it a long time to enjoy. You and your other buddy on the other hand might be able to build one truck from your two neglected rigs. You said your buddies attitude is "my dad will fix it" maybe if his dad stopped dumping money into and fixing his truck for someone who does not care enough to even put an air filter on it, he might just take a little better care of it.
 
I'd rather not break my maxx than have it out of commission for one stupid little thing or even one huge thing..... actually KK does take pretty good care of his maxx but does not really like to take it apart and fix it...
 
MC if you have NEVER broken your maxx dude I am thinking you don't have enough fun...
