This is really bad :opps:. It was a nice 55 degree day, sun was out and a little breeze. So I went outside and warmed up the revo, walked down to a dirt field and began jumping, bashing and having a good time. I thought it was running great about 240 temp, nice amount of smoke and excellent throttle responce. Then I was bringing the car back to me and all of a sudden I hear this screaching noise, the car died with a noise that you know some thing bad happened. I pulled the glow plug and the coil is gone and there is metal or something almost welded all over the thing. I pulled the cylinder head and its almost packed with the stuff "gritty". I then decided to pull the engine and pull the backplate and there is tons of the same material.
I guess I am going to declare its junk.

So now what?? I don't race, just mess around climbing hills, jump a little and hate to say just pin the throttle to have fun.

If I were to go the 3.3 route does bolt right in the same way the 2.5 came out and will it use the EZ start? Then, is the existing pipe and carb compatable or do they need to be upgraded as well???

Thanks for your time I do really appreciate it!!
Jim

If you want to ditch that 2.5, I'll take it.

The 3.3 is a dirrect drop in for the Revo. I would also check out Ebay for some good deals. I found an almost new OS .18TM for 110.00 shipped a few weeks ago. They retail 22.00 plus shipping new.

Oh I'm sure he ment 220$.... Because nothing fun only cost 22.00$ I called my local LHS and they don't know when they are going to get any 3.3's Is there a good internet store that would carry that engine??

Tower had some and maybe A main. You can also do the exchange program through Traxxas. Did you airfilter come off or something? And yes the 3.3R is a direct drop in for the 2.5R, you just need to swap the clutch and clutchbell over.

For 22.00 I would definately go with a new one. :D

Whooops

Ya, 220.00 is more like it. I was thinking hard about buying a new one or the RB 323. Then one night I got bore and placed a bid on an OS.18TM. I didn't think I would get it but I was pleasently surprised when I got home that night...exspecialy getting it cheaper than my max bid was set for :)

To answere your question I don't think its dirt as its sticks to a magnet. But I don't know what dirt really looks like that has been subjected to heat, fuel and compression.
As far as the engine goes, I just filled out the form for the engine replacement program. A moneyorder for 135$ and I get a 3.3 in about 10 days.
Thanks for everything
Jim
