ok i ran my savage for about 3 tanks after break in and on the 3rd tank i put some water on the cooling head like it said in a movie that i have and it didnt boil away and then i put a drop down in where the glowplug is and it boiled away instantly does this mean it is overheating and how to i solve the problem. i already richened the settings a little also and it still does it

no this does not mean its over heating the drop of water if to make sure it isnt over heating however it isnt the most acurate i would suggest getting a temp guage from tower the duratrax one thats the one i have. before i got it i did the water trick and it told me a little but not a lot your supposed to put a drop on and if it boils off before you can count to three its over heating and waht not i wouldnt be worried your fine probably i highly suggest getting a temp guage tho their not to expensive and are a great tool to have. good luck and ask more Q's if your confused.

sorry about the last post its kinda confusing your truck is not over heating and your probably fine.

Get a temp gun. You've spent a lot of money on your savage. $25 is a very small investment. Makes tuning easier. Less chance of messing up an engine because ya "thought" it was running cool enough. :2cents:

thanks for the tips my friend has a temp gun that I'm gonna buy so it should be usefull for tuning to

Its actually the exact oppissite. If its not boiling away after awhile and it just runs off then the engine is too rich. Get a temp gun.
