I know absolutely nothing about nitro cars, but my friends have them so I've decided to buy one also. I've been looking online at various cars, but will buy at local hobby shop because of any repair issues if necessary. The ones i'm looking into are HPI RS4,Associated TC3,and Traxxas 4-tec RTR models. Which do you guys recommend ? and what about a HPI super nitro car ? Tell me any things I may need to know when purchasing ?

oh yeah, will be running on parking lots and streets

I would stay away from the 4 tech, both of the other two are solid road cars and replacement parts are easy to get.

first off - WELCOME TO RCNT!

Out of the 3 you mentioned - the NTC3 is by far the best, highest quality car. However, the HPI is also a great car to get started with. Plenty of hopups, and alot less to worry about. The super nitros are also quite fun, although alot slower than the 10th scales. I would discourage you against the traxxas 4tec, although the fastest out of the bunch, its handling at that speed is akin to a baseball. Uncontrollable, and very breakable.

Want the best? Go with the NTC3 RTR

Want the easiest to maintain? Get the HPI RS4-3 RTR

Hope this helps.

Man NA your good at explaining if i was in your shoes i would go with the NTC3 rtr:thumbsup:

run from the 4tec as fast as you can! Get the tc3! after you are used to driving it you will want the 2speed,I recomend you learn how to wrench on your own car, altough I can support my local shop, I wouldnt let them work on any of my cars,(some of them charge up to $20 an hour) besides learning to work on your car is half of the fun(and sometimes headache) and you will learn much more that way! tc3 very good choice!
