Hey All,

I've got an OFNA PBS and a Sportwerks Mayhem and I think that both buggies are great. But, I've noticed something....I don't have any passion for the Mayhem. It runs absolutely great, flies straight, great suspension. Great engine. I haven't had a problem yet with it. The thing is...I get bored with it. There nothing wrong with it to obsess over. Just run it and put it away. Even the screws don't lossen up!

My PBS is requires more TLC. It doesn't run as good as the Mayhem. But I like it more; I think about it more. I tinker with it more. I want to make it better than the Mayhem. I spend more money on the PBS than the Mayhem and I still like the PBS better!

Anyone else have this sickness???

nope.. i got three nitros and the newest one (the savage) i hardly drive.. its the older ones that need work that i spend my time on.. wrenchin is half the fun!!

Now there's something I never thought I'd read in a review:

"The Mayhem is a wonderful ride. Fast. Strong. Flies well. A real contender. If there's one real drawback to this chariot, it's that it never breaks. I mean, it hardly requires any maintenance. Screws don't loosen. Haven't broken an arm yet. Run. Clean. Store. Repeat. Which sadly frees up plenty of time for other projects. Like the lawn. The trash. House painting. Dog grooming. If you're serious about RC, you're better off buying a ride that requires a lot more wrenching. It gets really old having a buggy that runs every time you want it to. Jumps every time you want it to. And doesn't break when you crash it." -from the creative minds of Traxxas

sometimes i like to wrench .. normally only when i am inventing somehting or making some fabricated stuff.. but i like a set it and forget it vehicle over all ....

Mine are all set it run 1/2 gallon of fuel before helping groom the track, it was running great before why would it change now right?.....and then when you're ready to race just be happy w/ the 4 laps you get before it craps out on you....I think XdamXincX can be my witness to this.....I seem to be able to run great before a race and then just fall apart usually in the first 3 laps.....last saturday I got a whoping 5 in before my center diff locked up.....but then it rained anyway....

mine to.. i can run fine all week (the short times i get to get out to the garage and wrench) then come sunday everything goes to poop.. i think wannarunem will agree he and i spent the better half of the day wrenchin sunday..

I drive a Mayhem pro which I like a lot, it's a really nice, original and beautiful car but I get the same feelings as you about it
why doing so much trouble buying tuning parts for it, as I have
also a XB8 which is lovely but I don't like it so much for several raisons,
it stays on the shelf as back-up,
tuned with SVM front torquerod, Kings Headz servosaverplate, rear blue carbon scrapers, new Xray 1piece motormount
now I think a lot about the jammin' X1-CR to replace both
to be simple and efficient

gdc02.....Go run your X-ray and the mayhem on a track and tell me which one drives better.....I've tried both too and NO WAY IN HELL would I want to run a Mayhem again.....I've seen em break just sitting in a pit area....NO poop!!! well I'm sure it was actually broken before but the guy picked it up and th eleft rear wheel carrier fell off....LMAO on that one...

ok Plaid
I busted the mayhems wheelnuts and had to dremeldisc into a front axle to get to loose the front wheel
so I have to wait 14 days for HD ones
it's now or never, as the King said....

I call it "T-maxx-itis"
LMFAO!! Yep and I've got that extremely bad hehe. I have spent more time working on my Maxx then I have running it , no kidding!! I have only had it for about 8 month. A lot of the time its been adding upgrades but it breaks all of the time I considered selling it or parting it out but its just to much fun lol Guess I'm a sicko too  . I think of it like building up a 1:1 car a junk heap. Just part of the hooby for me I love wrenching on it.
