Hey all,
Well my trusty Dcell ignitor finally took a crap and i been thinking of tinkering with the rig a bit. What I'm thinking of doing is mounting the Dcell somewhere up at the front of the truck and then wiring it into a on/off switch. from there, I was going to hook up a ProTek R/C Glow Ignitor Charge Lead (Ignitor Connector to 4mm Bullet Connector).

This (at least in my head) will help solve 2 issues. First it will add more weight to the front of my rig, wich in turn I hope will help keep my front end down. Second, I save myself from having to tote around 1 more accessory and to fire up, all i have to do is flip the switch and pull :hehe:

Thoughts/opinions apreciated.

Thanks

the link you posted was for a charger for a regular glow ignitor, i don't think you would need that, you need a piece that would fit on top of the glow plug itself like the e/z start systems have. i think it's a good idea if you need weight in the front end. but all you need is a 2 dollar wire for the glow plug to attach too, just solder and shrinkrap the rest of the outfit..... i dunno how you are planning on making a conductor with the wires to the battery though, i could see you having a issue here in the future not knowing if you were actually getting power to the glow plug.

oops, I didnt realise that was the wrong part. Thanks for pointing it out to me. But your right as far as the EZstart wire. in fact, that's the wire i'm looking for. I'm thinking i can get just the wire (http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/products_id/3309) or maybe the whole harness (http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/products_id/3308). as far as having a conection, I've already gave it a test run yesturday. I ran the ground (black) wire from the battery to the engine mount and mounted there with the engine screws. Then i just used a gator clip to connect the pos. lead to the glow plug. 2 pulls and she fired right up.

Hmmm....hey rolex, remember by chance wich part(s) you used and the part #'s?

Wanna know that too, plus want to know how you cut a piece of the head off...Dremel maybe?:\
