I've been trying to tune my t maxx. It runs great for about 3/4 of a tank, and then it starts to stall on idle and at full throttle it bogs a little. I think it's too rich on idle because unspent fuel is coming out of the exhaust. When I turn the idle screw it doesn't change the way it idles or anything. Any suggestions?

You will have to tune the LSN and the HSN. If you are lost on your tune, I would suggest resetting back to factory needle settings and retune from there, that would be your best bet. The idle screw should be set at .75-1mm which is about the thickness of a credit card.

Good luck!

I was going to try to reset it to factory, but when I turn the screw it doesn't look like its moving to gap at all. It's at about 2mm right now I think

If it's out really far, it might not move the gap until you get it a bit tighter. Fuel coming out of the exhaust means that it's rich. If you tune it right, the idle stop screw will adjust the idle. I usually tune the LSN with a pinch test, then fine tune it to get a punch off the line, always making sure it kills it in the safe range when doing the pinch test. The flow chart on tuning that is on this site should help you quite a bit.

I would say for sure that you need to start fresh with your settings. Due to the good running of the truck for three quarters of a tank, suggests lean run condition. Also could have some type of debre in the needles.

Make sure you're tuning it around half tank too. If you tune it at full, it would lean out during the last quarter tank and could have those symptoms.

Oops I've always been filling the tank then start bashing and then get frustrated because I would loose tune. I guess I assumed tank pressure would remain constant. I'll try tuning at a half tank then refill as needed.
