Hi guys I'm new to nitro trucks and need some help. Everything seemed to be going fine , I've ran about 15 tanks of fuel with the truck then all of a sudden as soon as the truck warms up it starts to idle realy crazy, after a few laps I bring the truck to a stop but it creeps foward and stops off and on , the idle seems to be a little high but if I try to turn it down it just stalls. when it's cold it seems to idle better, but when it's hot not so good. If anyone has any sugestions I would realy appreciated thanks.

i had a similar situation with my xl, for me it seemed like the 1 gallon mark is where the engine finally was broke in and it threw all my other tuning out the window. I don't know if it'll work with your problem but I ended up re-setting to my factory set tune and re-adjusted everything from there.

naw just set your lsn a little leaner. It is just set too rich and then when it warms up your engine is even more rich so it chokes itself out. I would turn the screw in (clockwise) 1/4 turn and see. You may have to turn your idle down once you do it because it will idle higher if its leaner.

may wanna remove the engine and seal up the carb and backplate, also check your fuel line real good and even the o ring on the lid of the tank.

could be an airleak.

There is no mid range needle on a Savage.

actually the origanal .21bb has a 3rd adjustable seet for mid, IDK if the 5.9 is like this and if it is it would defer my opinion on wanting one. i can't stand that .21bb carb.

I seriously doubt they would have the mid range needle on the 5.9 since they haven't had it on most of the newer ones. They really shouldn't ever be changed, and if they are, it becomes a nightmare to re-balance all three.

He is talking about the xl k5.9 yes it has a mid range needle just below the high speed heres a pic
and Iam spouse to be the newbe and i never messed with it it turned it self in cause it did it again today so back to lhs for o-rings

my xl has 3 needles as well, low, midrange and high speed. ( as well as the idle screw)

yes there is one on the other side .But the problem is that the o-rings on the mid range wear out or something like that and it turns its self in witch cause the motor to lean out really bad .Mine did this and took engine off truck and sealed it but that was not it. it was the mid-range

pull the mid seet and clean it real good then loctite it flush.;)

well guys, I sealed the engine but it made no difference! I had the truck on a stand just idleling, it was fine at first, but again, once it got hot the idle speed went up and the wheels started to spin. Is it the midd speed needle ? or should I try something else?

your suppose to set the idle and tune when its at opperating temp.

so if it idles to high at opperating temp, just back off the idle screw. is that all thats wrong or is it losing tune and getting to hot? a lean engine will idle high.
