No you can NEVER reliably ID the truck by the engine because you can put ANY kind of engine on it you want. So my T-Maxx has a LRP .28 on it......what model of T-Maxx do I have......ohhhhh that throws a wrench in the works don't it? So If I put a Dynamite .19 on one it changes the model Of the truck? Who would have known that? I guess that is why you a Guru and I am not.

No, you can never rely on just the engine to determine the model # of a maxx. I've seen an old narrow maxx with a 3.3 and I've also seen a new extended chassis with a 2.5.

Agreed, I have the classic Tmaxx 4910 with the 3.3 mounted on it....that doesn't turn it into a 3.3!

Sooo......it looking like we are going with I can't ID a truck by the engine? How about the tires? Can I tell what kind of truck I have by the tires? I though it was a T-Maxx but the tires say Losi Zombie Maxx???? Gosh which is it I am now so confused!!??

a arms can be used to identify pro .15 short a arms and 2.5 have standard

A-arms won't tell you anything either, because a 4910 can be an original pro .15 or a wider 2.5. They're both a 4910.

There is also the 4902, 4909, 4908, and 4907.

You have to look at what parts the truck has on it to determine which model # it matches the best. That means the chassis, tranny, shafts, diffs, everything. Mine was a 4908 when I bought it, but now it has the 2.4ghz radio system, so I call it a 4907.

easy to tell if it has a hole in the bottom of the chassis for exhaust its a classic if not its a 3.3

Yeah the newer chassis is also thicker and is 30mm longer.
Can't you just put up a pic or two?
