Hey, hey now—I bought an el-cheapo Fleabay GoPro knockoff and got exactly what I paid for: tons of accessories, but a trash, unusable camera.

Boo this man!!!!!

So now I’m looking for a better option. If it’s a real GoPro, I’m willing to bite the bullet.
I want something small I can just attach to a mount on the truck (whether inside the truck or on the roof).
I would like to be able to view the video on the camera—but that’s not mandatory. Really, I want to be able to hook it up to the truck, hit record, go for a walk, and then upload the video via cable or Bluetooth.
I don’t need some top-of-the-line 4K ultra-6-bagillion-megapixel uber camera.
But I definitely don’t want choppy video with no sound.
Does anyone have recommendations based on experience?
Thanks in advance, homies!!

I have 3 or 4 hero 3's, a 4 black, and a 7. The 4 black was my favorite. The 3s are dash cams mainly. Tge 7 hss a screen on it but it freezes znd wants too many dang updates. So I favorite the 3 and 4.

The black will give you top of the line features, silver is middle and white is basic I believe.

A gopro session is smaller and lighter, may e a good idea? But being this is for @majin I suggest not a 7 or on with the screen. It gives one more thing to break.

The 7 automatically records verticle or horizontal like a phone.

Been using gopros since 2011 or so. One three, tge 4, and the 7 were all bought new. The others used.

I use a x360 camera... I could never go back to a normal action camera. Don't have to worry about setting it up in the correct spot, you just put it anywhere and you can move the camera view around in post production to capture exactly what you want. Their software is super easy to use too... Little pricy, but well worth the money. It does the work of 2 or 3 cameras all by itself.

What is a "normal action camera" that you could never go back to?

If you shop around you can find the older ONE X2’s for around $200 new. Not super cheap, but not bad considering what even GoPro knockoffs go for.
