Actually, those look pretty cool. Too bad we don't get snow where I live. We've had it once in fifteen years.

Seems like an awful lot of work for something that probably wont help ya all that much.. Get some PADDLES...

Please tell me how Paddles will get traction on ICE? Look at the title of the thread and click on the link to the page on my site and read it please read it.

Easy Killer.... :) I was referring to the other link you posted, where the seller posted that they "Greatly improve traction on Snow, Mud, Sand and & Ice. I can see Ice, but Paddles would be ideal for Snow, Mud & Sand..

I dunno whos they are. Just the whole chain thing in general. Just seems like if they did loose grip, the tire would be spinning super fast, and when a tire spins fast, it balloons. And a Balooning tire with chains on it doesn't sound to good to me. Plus the chains seem to small. Like the links.

Doesn't it seem reasonable that if I posted this and have them on MY website and I have pictures showing ME making them, the brass colored ones MIGHT be MINE? Doesn't it also seem reasonable that if after 2 Winters of using them, if they didn't work, I'd have the NERVE to post this?

Hey. They look like they work great.

Is that what you were looking for?

Here goes another one... not surprising.

Bill- Have fun with the hobby but don't take these sorts of reactions too personally. Most of these types of threads go this route. Not everybody is going to agree with you.

I have used chains before, they look cool and get great traction on ice, not sure about snow, Never had them on when it snowed.

If you run chains be careful and check them every tank or so, I had a chain brake loose and put a gash in my body, before it got wraped around my drive shaft.

Looks great Bill.

easy there killer. All I said was they looked cheasy. The rest I was simple stating what I thought theyd be like.
I live in MinneSNOWta and havnt had any problems with paddles yet. I could see if you were on a skating rink they might now work as well, but usually were theres ice, theres snow. At least here in Mn.

I made a set of these for my Savage like 3 years ago too. All it is some chain I bought from Wal-Mart.
