well i have checked every inch of my truck to find out why it stops running at half-way point on my tank, i bought a new air filter, new fuel filter, new tank, fuel lines, carb, etc. i dont know what is wrong, i may just have to take it to lhs 8-0 i just wish my truck was running good. it idles fine and for the half tank it runs like a champ hitting second gear at half throttle and only getting about 210 degrees, it is still bogging down before it shuts off, i tryed leaning out my lsn, but nothing, this us horse horsecrap could my middle speed needle be messed up, i have never toched it so could that casue this kind of problem, do you guys have any more ideas, PLEASe give too me. THANKS!

This is usually caused by not having enough or consistent exhaust pressure going to the tank.

When the tank is full it requires less volume of pressurized air to push the fuel to the carb. As the fuel amount is less it takes more air / pressure to keep pushing the fuel.

Things to try.
Make sure the air port on your pipe isn't clogged and is free of oil.
Shorten the line to your tank from the pipe.
Keep your line from the tank to your carb from making large upward sweeps.

If all else fails, you may need a pipe that delivers more pressure.

I hope this helps.

Which Savage do you have. Is it the RTR .25 or the RTR .21 or the SS kit?Does it have a fuel tank with a primer?

well i got the .21 version and i bought a primeless tank for it a couple weeks ago.

too lean

It sounds to me like you are too lean on the low side Ant. You can be too lean on the low side and the heat not show it. As your engine warms up it leans out on its own from the heat it produces. It is possible your engine is running great to this point which is roughly a half a tank. Back your low speed out until its flush and turn your idle screw up enough so it wont stall (this will probably be so high the wheels are slightly engaging. It will spit fuel out the exaust and make a big mess but dont worry. Next back the high speed needle until you notice a pretty good drop in the performance. Now find a big area and run it hard. This way you will know if its a tuning problem or a tank problem. Also run the fuel line around the rear body mount and keep it away from the engine as best as possible. And as Eddie said make sure your fuel return line is open and free from trash.

Oh yeah....whats your elevation there up in the hills? The low speed can be really toughy in upper elevations. You have had problems too long...we gotta get you going.

One way to deal with the tank issue is to install a smaller tank.

Here is one from Newera that includes everything you need for the mod.

Your run times may diminish, but at least it will run great throughout the entire tank.

Also check to see if you've got a leak in your lines. I've had that happen before and it had to heat up a bit before fuel started weeping out of hole in the tube.

I think I might be with ed here. I had an issue when I installed my S-25 tank. Make sure your tank is holding a good seal. Dude do the header tank mod too. The hayes header tank is like $4.00 and a radiator clamp is like .49 cents. It's a cheep mod to do and you will always have consistant fuel pressure. I run even temps all throughout the tank now.
