Hey everyone,here is my dilemma--- i have a brand new not even broken in yet 5309 the new version, and i have an older original 5309. i am headed to the lhs tomorrow and have some extra $$$ to put int the trucks.i was just looking for some ideas of upgrades for the new truck or the old truck, the old truck is basically stock except for air filter and tires and rims. they both have wings already. any suggestions????? thanks in advance and i will let you all know what i get tomorrow night. trying to post pics but it isnt working out lol.
 
Motor Saver air filter for the new one. THS Pipe or resonator for both. RPM arms for both. A FOC/Center Diff conversion with the rear brake for either.

FAILSAFE, FAILSAFE, FAILSAFE, not cool, not hip, not fab, but WILL stop a runaway in the event of signal loss. One with a built in volt checking feature is best, it stops the rig if the voltage of the rx pak goes below a pre-defined level.

RPM Arms up front
RPM True track arms in the rear,

TRX Red Aluminum pushrods
TRX Gunmetal Grey Aluminum Toe Links

Centre diff kit w/rear brake kit (requires new trans case rear & foc kit)

Forwards only Conversion (FOC) kit

Tekno Sway Bar Kit

TRX resonator tuned pipe,

Motorsaver air filter

FUEL FILTER !!!

Rear wing mount kit and wing. It acts to stop the rig flipping backwards onto its skid lid (body) and looks cool whilst being functional as well.

A spare rx pak or two.

Anything else to my mind, would be a waste of $$ just for the "bling" factor. Of course, it is your choice.

Ignore the sections covering the parts you have already fitted.........

But i will add that if you do not have them already, fit 17mm hex adapters, it will open open a whole new line of wheels and tyres to you.
 
Thanks guys. excellent list thunder tiger!!! I am definately getting the sway bar kit,rpm arms and true tracs for the new one.And probably a failsafe for both. Any suggestions on a brand of failsafe? Thanks again guys. still trying to get pics ARRRRGH!!!!!

Not a problem. There are a few parts on that list i need to sort myself soon.

As to fail safe brand, that choice is yours, but as mentioned in the list above, try to find one with a built in voltage cut off. I think, if I remember rightly, that venom offer one with that feature. Maybe give that a look.

I don't run a fail safe atm as I run spektrum radio, but I am looking to run one as a back up.

BTW, go with the tekno sway bars, they are waaaaaay superior to the standard TRX ones as they are all "inboard" of the rig and not partly inboard partly out board like the TRX ones.

I'm still learning but just about everything i have learned,i have learned from this site.Now that the warmer weather is coming and i have time hopefully i can bash quite a bit this year and share whatever knowledge i may gain.
 
Absolutely i had the old revo out for a tank today and now i have the official itch!!!! lol and now that i have two i am sure i can always find a buddy to go bashing with.:)

2 hours later the guy is hooked and on here wringing our brains dry of knowledge ! :hehe:
 
LOL!! yup that is exactly what will happen. lol and then my wife will get sick of my buddies being around fixin what they break lol. then she will never get the computer hehehe!!!

I am indeed i found the one that was built for me.besides the lhs is in the same neighborhood that the mall is in.HMMMMMM!!! coincindence? I THINK NOT!!!!:D
 
What a wasted trip to the lhs he had nothing on my list. so i ordered the sway bar kits,turnbuckles and pushrods. so now its wait for the big brown truck.

Pitty you couldnt get the bits local, "maybe next time" as they say.
 
oh well i tried to keep the money local. he just moved to a new building thats 3 times what the old building was so he has everything thown in a corner in boxes because he is building the twoo indoor tracks and sales and workshop areas. so he probably had the stuff he just could not find them and didint feel like digging for them. oh well his loss cause i came home and ordered everything online.
