Well - I just purchased a new SMP Slide Chrome Edition and need an another engine. I cannot afford another C5 Rody Team, and am trying to keep the engine cost for this car under 300.00

Anyone have any recommendations? My only requirment is that it must be a circuit engine, and I won't buy anything from OS Max.

You have always been good about your recomendations on OS mills in the past, I have owned 4 of them(because of your recomendations) and had nothing but great luck with all of them, ok, the con rod was my fault, where did the above stament come from? you must have known I would call you on a qoute like that,, explain please!

If you do a search for NA and OS you will find a thread he created about calling out OS and saying that he would never own another one again.

NA - I thought you sold your SMP Slide? What made you decide to get another one?

EDIT - Here is the link to that thread....

NM - please read that thread, I am very dissillusioned with them after the whole VZ issue. Plus, they dont make any other big blocks besides the VZ right now.

MCvickj - I did. But I missed it everyday, and really want to switch to 8th scale only. Yesterday, I traded my reflex and rody V12 for a NIB Slide Chrome chassis. I will have pics up this weekend. At the moment, I am just going to put the S7 from the buggy in it until i can get used to the handling of the car. But i do want another engine. Looking at another RB, but they are pushing my price range, 425.00 for the cheapest on road C5 engine.

Thanks for the link JR, That all went on while I was gone over the last two months, NA, I did read it, you know how I am about parts on my engines, I can't stand my LHS, but they do suprrize the poop out of me when ever I go there, they sell so many OS mills that the wall of parts for them really impresses me and keeps me coming back, The nice thing is I have never really needed any parts for my mills, lots of GS parts that I need they dont stock but tons of OS parts I dont , but is great to know they are there when I do, fast Eddy makes a good point about this, You own the only rb mill I have ever seen, I really like that engine and would love to own one myself, but then what good is that wall of OS parts when my brand new RS mill needs something, you see my point, sometimes the mass produced mill is the better choice for some one like me who just loves to bash and wrench. I may never own an RS mill but am damn glad you do, I can't wait to get over there and see those things run, as far as OS goes I can only hope no one gets discouraged from owning one, they still produce a damn dependable mill for the coin!

NM - as you may have read in the thread, I will still recommend them to others. My LHS has a wall of RB parts, just as yours does for OS.

I would be open to at least looking at an OS mill, however - they do not make any engines that are a .21 other than the RG and VZ. We all know the VZ has problems, and the RG is not suited for the task I need it for.

Let's try to keep this thread back on topic regarding engine options rather than the previous OS comments, cool?

Anyone have any suggestions?

BTW - My 300.00 cap can be shifted a bit if an engine is deemed to be worth it.

does that car take a .12, a .15 or a .21? I am not to fimiliar with the Slide. Is it a 1/8? or a 1/10?

It's a 1/8th scale and he's looking for a .21

Well for a race engine for an On-Road that is pretty budget right. I don't race 1/8th scale on-road or have I ever driven one but I know there engine prices to stay pretty close to the .21 buggy prices.
