Hello all,

I recently picked up a Mamba Competition package for my RC18MT. Its the 6800kv one. I am running a 7 cell 1400mah pack with Intellect cells. I put on all Deans connectors too. I am running the stock AE XP2 radio system, soon to be an XR3i, but not yet.

I'm having some problems with my ESC. I tried to calibrate it, but its not working too well. It says when you turn on the ESC, you should pull full throttle and it will beep 4 times when its set, then pull full brake and it will beep again when set. This is where my problem starts, it just keeps blinking red and never sets the full brake. Somehow I got it calibrated, and it will work. The brakes are very weak, reverse only works about half the time, and it does not run very smooth. I'm looking for anyone who might have experience setting these things up, I'm a bit of a noob at electric, sorry.

When it does work, this thing flys, it has insane power, so I'm pretty sure I'm close to the right set up.

Thanks for any help.

Are you;
disconnecting the battery,
turning the esc switch to the off possition,
reconnecting the battery,
wait for the beeps then pull the trigger to full throttle and so on?

Its frustrating until you get the proper sequence down.

I used same setup except lipos. It will work.

You may want to buy the usb Castle Link for fine tuning your esc. It will save you additional headaces.

Yes I am doing that, the problem occurs when setting full brake. It begins beeping red indicating that its time for full brake, so I pull full brake, but it just keeps beeping red and never indicates that its measured full brake.

I've got it working somewhat, I have no idea how I did it. Throttle is very glitchy, and reverse works about half the time, its very annoying to drive like this, but at least I get to see the power this thing has.

Also, my rear shocks keep blowing apart, the piece that clips onto the bottom of the shock body holding the seals on keeps falling off. This is also very annoying and I'm thinking of switching to some aluminum shocks, not the FT ones because they also use the plastic seal cap things.

Its the stock radio, doesn't have EPA adjustments. When I go home over Thanksgiving break I'm gonna put my JR XR3i in it.

Unless you are not programing it correctly it will more than likely be what beason said; end points unless you have a faulty esc.

I've had it happen once using an Aggressor FM Tx and a HSF-03MM Rx. I switch the Rx to a DCX and it worked perfectly.

If you have no way to widden or narrow your settings you may be stuck.

i just sent my esc back twice and the sent me new one keeps acting up
now i just sent esc and motor back per ther instructions
have not got it back will keep you posted
