I'm kinda new at this nitro truck stuff and i need a little help...i bought a used .15 max for $200 2 months ago. it runs good but now the weather is turning cold in my area and tuning it has to be done every day and sometime during the day. a couple of times i have rune the motor to hot and i think its time for a new one since it is pretty old. my question is how hard is it to break in a new motor in 50-65 dgree weather. i was leaning tward buying the o.s. .18 cv-rx w/ 11j rotary carb. another thing i was wondering is how good are the integy msr5 shocks. over on the traxxas forum they told me that there a waste of money. any thoughts?

65 degree weather is what i call perfect. It should be fine. Anything much colder than that, you should put a sleeve of a sock over the cooling head to get the temps up. I wouldnt got with the Integy shocks... I had some of those same ones, and i didnt find them very impressive, other than the looks. I would suggest buying some Unlimited Engineering shocks. They are basically buggy shocks, and are super heavy duty (plus, you only need 4 of them!).

With the mill, I would think it's not so much the engine, but the tune and driver. You can get an .18 engine to run great, or you can destroy it. You seem to already know enough about tuning to get by.
Go with the engine you think will be right for your rig. tune it right and keep a close eye on the temps, you should be fine. good Luck!

the O.S. .18 should be perfect. It's just enough power to notice more performance, without alot of headaches. However, I'd recommend getting the turnbuckle and choose the slide carb over the rotary, but that's up to you.

Just seems pretty easy to me to drill three holes in a straight line.

BTW: you might check out a new exhaust kit with the new mill.

you wont go wrong with the .18 cvrx i had 1 and they are awsume for the cash and like busted said its easy to convert it to th 2.5 slider
you can get all the parts you need off ebay really cheap like less then 15 shipped i bet
nowi wish i still had my tmaxx parts i had everything you needed to convert it over
maybe i can ge tahold of the kid that got it and i can get you the parts you need ,just give me a few days to get it
