Guess who's back?

Well guys after having to take a leave of absense, I'm back on RCNT. Contrary to popular belief, I haven't been locked up. Although when I read NC's post that said something like "Better check the county to see if they have him", it literally made me laugh so hard my mouth hurt worse.

I have to admit, you guys really shocked me when I saw how many people noticed that I was gone, and how many people acted like they were truly concerned with my well being. I figured that I could count on my fingers the number of people that would even notice that I was gone, but I was wrong. You guys are like my family, and its so nice to see that the feeling is mutual with you guys. I had people send me PM's, call me, send me text messages, all members who were concerned because I wasn't on here for a few days. It really made me feel better to see how many of my friends on here are just that, TRUE FRIENDS. You guys are awesome, and RCNT and it's members are a very important aspect of my life because of that.

For you guys who have been wondering what happened to me, here's a quick summary of what happened. I went to Atlanta to pick up the last few things that I had left to get that had been in mine and Dad's hot rod shop (my nicest compressor, a few welders, a few torches, things like that) as well as quite a few of my Dad's perrsonal belongings that were VERY important to me, that my step-mom decided to let me have when she got remarried.

On the trip, I started having a pretty bad toothache. I've spent about 8 grand on dental work alone in the past 12 months, so a toothache is nothing new to me. However, this one didn't bother me a lil bit for a week or so and get progressively worse over time. This thing hit me like a brick wall and it was absolutely miserable driving a huge uhaul truck back, and making a 30 hour round trip with a 5 hour break in between.

So I got home and unloaded my stuff and made a dentist appointment for Tuesday. By Sunday night I was ready to pull my teeth out with vice grips and make some styrene and fiberglass dentures. So I went to the dentist and had X-Rays and everything, and it turned out that I had three absesses in my teeth. I've had a lot of similar problems, but I always nipped em in the bud before they got so bad. He put me on antibiotics, and one of the absesses was so bad that I had to go into oral surgery the next day to have the problem tooth removed so it could drain.

So, after this I figured the bad part was over and I would be feeling better in no time. I absolutely refuse to take any narcotic pain medication because of my history with addiction to opiates (prescription pain medicine). So I was on my ass in the bed before and after the oral surgery to keep the pain level down. Anyway, a few days after the surgery I thought I would be fine and got up and went about my day, only to get violently ill, like I had the bird flu or something. The doctors were worried about the infection spreading through my body and getting into my bloodstream, so the next day when I was worse I went to the doctor. He did tons of tests and had me wait on the results. Sure enough, the reason that I was so sick was because the infection was spreading, and he made me check into the hospital. They put me on some really strong IV antibiotics, and kept me for constant monitoring that night, the next day, and one more night.

The IV antibiotics really turned things around, and I've been home for a few days now trying to get back to normal. I'm feeling better, although the whole mess has made me feel quite weak. I don't get sick very often, but this whole ordeal really put me on my ass.

The moral of this story is, if I had not made such bad choices in my past, and lived the life that I lived, all of this could have been avoided. Everything else that I messed up in my life I have been able to fix and make everything better after turning my life around. But my teeth are a constant reminder of my bad decisions, and I wish I would have listened when people tried to tell me that this would happen. Without going into detail or breaking the forum rules, you young guys really need to take notice of this. I will never again have perfect teeth like I did before my substance abuse, and it has been the most expensive part of my recovery. I have spent 8 grand in the past 12 months having my teeth repaired, and this incident alone has cost about 5. I still have about 4 grand worth of dental work to go just to get my teeth back to good condition. They'll never be the same, as almost every tooth has had a route canal, or a filling, or a crown, etc... So as you guys are growing up and facing choices about what to do with your life, remember that no matter how good of a person you are or how hard you work to change your life later, some things aren't replaceable.

wow mam its good to have you back! Glad your ok and sorry about your teeth bro. Ya when your young you know everything right? I luckily never got into that scene but i have friends who did and are still in it. Same thing your saying teeth falling out horrible skin etc... its just not worth it at all. Well its great to see your doing better man. Of corse your family to us thats what we are here brother!

welcome back homie!!! NOW STAY PUT!!! LOL

You guys are awesome. I was surprised more than a couple of you even noticed I was missing. I got on a few days ago and read a few pages of the thread but I had to go lay down before I got halfway through it.

I posted in a thread in the GC section about why I've been gone. Thanks for those youtubee videos, it was touching in a scary kind of way.

And jail sounds quite nice compared to the pain I've been dealing with for over a week.

I have TONS of new PM's to go through and I'm still not feeling great so it might take me a while to get them all answered. Just wanted you guys to know that I'm not ignoring you, well... most of you

No excuses, there are some questions that need attending to in the Crawler section too. Now GET TO WORK! damn slacker, think a stinking tooth ache is gonna get you out of it. :D
