Well I actually got two of them. One was complete the other had no wheels or no servos but everything else for thirty bucks. I have no idea how long they have sat for. But I tried starting the complete one with a new glow plug ignitor and new plugs. It turns but won't start. I got the fuel with it, but I'm sure it has sat around as long as the trucks have. Do I need to get new fuel or is the old still good? What do I need to check to see what may wrong

If it still does not start with fresh fuel and fresh glow plug, Reset the carb back to factory settings and tune from there...

I wasn't sure bout how long to keep the fuel or if it goes bad after a certain period. I did buy some new plugs cause the ones that were with it were bad. Would not even light.

What is the factory settings? This is my very first nitro rc, so I have no idea what that would be or how to do that.

If it was running when it was put away, don't touch the needles. This is bad advice unless you know they are all out of whack. All you'll accomplish by resetting the needles to factory is an engine that is getting too much fuel to start. Get some fresh fuel, make sure your using a rechargeable ignitor, and not alkaline batteries. I've had a fresh duracell not start an engine, while a nimh cell did. Do a radio check first thing. Make sure the throttle linkage is working the carb correctly, as well as the steering. Range check the radio gear as well.

Make sure it's charged up all the way. A voltage tester would be the best way to check it if you have one available. Fresh fuel, new glow plug, make sure none of the fuel lines or the tank cap leaks, throttle linkage and steering adjusted right. Get 'er crankin' over, and cover the exhaust in a quick motion, on and off, to prime it. It should start if everything is cool. If not, we'll take it from that point.:)

A little elaboration for ya: There's a 2.5mm hex bolt under the tank cap. As long as the o-ring isn't ripped, you can tighten this bolt to expand the plug(part that o-ring is on). Only tighten it if you need to. My Maxx tank has been fine for over 2 years. The voltage in your ignitor battery should be between 1.2 and 1.4 volts. Any lower, and it may not heat the plug enough to fire. To check the operation of the throttle and it's linkage, pop the air filter off. Turn on the transmitter and receiver, but do NOT start the engine. Make sure there is a small gap with your finger off of the trigger(1-1.5mm), make sure that the carb opens all of the way with the trigger squeezed, and that it doesn't close when you apply the breaks. Let us know how your coming along.:)

Update....

Gonna need a new motor. The piston is chipped. Tore it apart last night after I tried new fuel and new fuel lines, I decided to see what kinda shape the motor was in. As I suspected it was worn out. Will post pics of it.

But I did manage to pick up a new 3.3 motor. I'm gonna break it in slow and right so hopefully it lasts a long time.

Okay guys i have an update and a problem.....

Motor will be here tomorrow so that is good, but the not so good thing is i think i have maybe a bad servo. Everytime i turn on the box on the truck the servos move with out the controller being on. What causes this or what do i need to look for or adjust if anything??

That's normal. The rx will catch a stray signal every once in a while. Does everything work fine with the tx on?

No I turn on the controller and it will not move any of the servos. The steering won't move and the throttle will go all the way open with out me pulling the trigger. The guy who had these bashed the crap out of them. The antenna is all cut and taped together. So I'm sure I may need all new controls and receiver.
