I had thought breaking was a big part of this hobby

I had just begun to think that breaking parts was a part of the hobby. I had bought a used T-maxx off Ebay, not knowing how many tanks of fuel have been run through it. First time out I hit a railroad tie at full throttle and about 35mph, broken motor mount, spur gear, flywheel. Got it fixed and stripped the spur gear within 10 minutes. I had somebody else fix it the first time (what a mistake) cost me $35 and he left the motor loose. So I fixed it myself, waterproofed my servos, tightened EVERYTHING, lubed EVERYTHING, put it all back together and finally yesterday my 10yo son with his Duratrax Max ST and I got to the pit. We bashed them pretty good, did some awesome jumps had some good crashes and didn't break ANYTHING!!!! WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!! This hobby ROCKS, I am so hooked. I'll be buying a new Revo 3.3 soon, giving my son the old T-maxx 2.5 and I'll save the Duratrax for my 2yo son.

Also, I have some pretty good video of it and as soon as I can get it to load onto my computer I will post the vids.

Sounds like you had a blast. That is what this hobby is all about... having fun... and sometimes breaking stuff. LOL

Had a blast thanks, was pleasantly surprised with the Duratrax Maximum ST, bought it for $135 used at a local hobby shop. It's been upgraded to a Torq 16 engine with a tuned pipe. I beat it pretty good and only had 3 problems (one problem 2x) and if anybody has any thoughts on how to fix I'd appreciate it. First the front wheels will pop off the a-arms, there is a screw that is threaded near the top but it pops out when you hit too hard, 2nd, sometimes it would bog down and I'd have to pump it to keep it running, then it would come out of it and run good for a while. I've been adjusting and adjusting, to no avail. My local hobby guy told me that my high speed needle should be out 3-5/8 - 4 turns, is this true???
