I finally got my brand new T-Maxx 2.5. I'm so excited, but i dont have a 7.2v battery. That sucks but at least i got it. can't wait to talk to y'all more.

Congrats on the new ride, and ABSOLUTELY take the time to break it in right. It will pay off BIG TIME in the long run.
Enjoy it.

I was told by my hobby shop dealer that these engines actually dont need to be broken in. (As in the repetitive steps). He said the engines are fitted properly when they come out of the factory and Traxxas and other companies only recommend you to break it in since they want the user to get used to the truck first and not over-rev the engine at first which makes sense doesn't it? I didnt totally follow the break in procedure and my T-Maxx runs great...

Just wondering..

Well ur LHS dealer is a dumbass bastard who is trying to get you to fry your motor more quickly so he can make more money off of you when u are forced to prematurely buy more parts.

woaaaa bad bad advice

all my traxxas engines i have broken in i would never not breakin a nitro engine dont care how fancy it was

All and any new engine need to go trough a breakin process. If you are willing to spend $20k plus on a mechanical/technician training and education you will learn why. Sound like he wants to sell you parts of a new engine if you ask me.

Can I hear an AMEN brothers and sisters????!!!!! Yeah they are full of Shtuff. Just because they work at a hobby shop does not mean they know RCs. My dad was in the Navy but that does not mean I know sh*t about boats. Read the instructions and follow them to the letter. Traxxas has one of the best break in manuals out there IMO.

That's true..
not everyone that works in a hobby store knows about RC

any ways
congrats on your new truck
be sure to break it in good!!! like its been said very many times

Ya I agree with everyone else the at your lhs store are just trying to get more money out of you, when you break a motor in the piston and sleeve form a bond that is smooth and when you just run them crazy right out of the box you can over heat it and wreck more parts.
