I've been tlaking to you guys here on the forum about the sirio .27. My report card came in yesterday through the mail and geuss what i got straight A's. well my dad came back from work at around 8 today and surprised me with a picco .26 max ! He said he got it for free from his boss. His boss Quit the hobby recently and he had a brand new never used picco .26 max he gave it to my dad since he knew i love rc cars. I'm so happy!!!

Now heres where i ned your help :D What kind of pipe should i use?
For everyone who has used the heat cycle method, how much tanks does it take to break the engine in , what are the steps, and what speed am i suppose to use for the breakin? I'm thinking I'm gonna break it in on saturday.

I'm so happy ! :D

it doesn't really go by tanks but more by time. you do 2-3 min intervals to start then after 3-4 intervals like that (with complete cooldowns at bdc) you can bump it up to 3-4 min intervals. you shouldn't really give it full throtle until you've done a total of 20-25 min of this (without cooldown time). and don't lean to tune yet just run it a hair on the rich side for 6 tanks. if I'm wrong correct me but this is how i've broken in 2 3.3's and they are still going strong with a strong pinch

I agree suicide. I was figuring on fuel consumption because time is relevant to temps, cool down time, etc. But again the 20-25 minutes is of actual run time in the 200 degree area. it doesn't include cool down or the time it takes to get it to 200 either don't be in a hurry to get the temp up fast be patient. You will have to lean slightly from the start just to get the temps up to 200.

not really just tune it slightly on the rich side. depending on the weather and humidity it may involve leaning or richening it

also try to keep the motor in between 200 and 220. so a temp guage is good here

Dont go for a rear pipe, it will suffocate the picco immensely. A big block 1/8 side pipe will give you easier tuning, more power, and cooler temps. I would also get a center diff with 500k fluid and a rear brake. It will be easier on your transmission. I just installed the dynamite 053 side pipe hard coated. Coming from the stock rear pipe it is a world of difference! I dont know if Oomp is a member here, but he is on the traxxas forums. He has a custom made adapter to seal the small block port and large block exhaust. I dont know what you are using for a starter, i suggest you go bump box, or rotostart. The cheezestart does not have enough oomph to turn over the picco and you might strip the ez gears and fry your ez motor. The rotostart works great. Find a backplate from a 3.3 that is rotostart and put it on the picco. Get the NEW ERA mount. And the most important step besides the new era mount, and pipe is to SEAL the ENGINE with copper rtv. Seal around the carb neck and the engine backplate under the o-ring then around the edges where the screws go it. This is insure that the engine does not leak. I made it through one tank before my engine poured nitro fuel through the backplate, sealed it and it ran good. Plus, that dynamite hard coated side pipe looks just plain mean :D
