I found a 87!! tooth spur gear. but it is not a t-maxx gear, but i could make it work if i found a 48 pitch clutch bell, and that would be friggen awesome. My friends dad made a custom gear that was 32 pitch 84t and that was crazy. but 87!! omg here is the site 4 it. but tell me if you could find a 48p spur 4 me.

Let's see, the stock set up (72 & 20) gives you a gear ratio of 3.6. If you went to (87 & 20) that would give you a ratio of 4.35. Or better yet, if you used (87 & 16 tooth clutch bell) you would have a ratio of 5.4.

Your truck would probably do a backflip due to gearing it for so much torque. It would definitely tear up some stuff, but would still be fun to watch. Maybe you can talk El Pirata into doing it.

Later...

i am going to try it, because i was giving tips to people for a rock crawler. that is all torque. and also, my truck already almost can do a backflip, due to the 2wd, it is a sportmaxx. but that would be crazy. it would like shift almost at idle. lol it would be funny. cmon el pirata! you should try it!

umm.... arn't the teeth smaller on 48 pitch. so that means an 87 tooth 48pitch gear is not going to be as big around as a 32 pitch 87 tooth gear, each tooth takes up less room

not that much smaller, and if you could like make the regular clutch bell to work, it would be insane.

I think he's trying to master the art of backflipping and landing on all 4.

Well, he's mastering something. A beer and a shot for you Chris!

That's some serious rock crawling. hell you might even hit second gear before your truck is going faster than most people walk.

that did happen with my friends maxx. his dad knocked out some custom gears, and got it up to 84t. and he has the lowest tooth clutch bell on it already. i was just trying to find a cheaper and easier way to get some insane low end. and also, i will not be using it on my s-maxx. i am getting a bare skeleton and building it off of that with and xtm 247

that 87t is 48p. its for for the 1/10 scale traxxas trucks like the stampede and rustler. there is no cb that i no of that is 48p. with nitro your basicaly stuck with 32p unless you can machine something otherwise. :marshall: sorry to bust your buble but if you get ti to work please inform the world you could patend and be rich!!! lol maybe.
