RC Driving Style
Awhile ago I thrashed my flywheel on my 2.5 maxx. i went to the lhs to just get the new one and they suggested that I get the foc also, since I was going to have the tranny out. Well I finished it last nite. Man was it easy. I think it only took like fourty five minutes. I did have a little trouble with the front driveline. Took it out wrong,or something. But other than that it was gravey. Works great too. I think it has alot more kick off the line. All that garbage you remove sure weighs alot!!! Thanks for the help.

Congrats! I too found it a lot easier than I initally thought. I love my FOC and screw the reverse. Some people like it but it really hinders performance, but to each his own:cheers:

I just got done installing my foc (havent even washed my hands yet) I am going to try it out this weekend when I'm camping, I'm sure it kicks ass though

Congrats to all of you on the FOC!!!! Its one of the best hopups you will do to your maxx! Can you say INSTANT HOOKUP!

O yea it is awesome!!! I will never have reverse!! If get another truck/car. It will be the first thing to go!!!

It rocks!! I too wish that I had did it sooner. But it is done!! Now on to the future bashing!!!!

Forgive my ignorance, as I'm not a TMAXX owner, but what's an FOC?

I,too, have gone FOC. The only problem is that I installed it at the same time I installed my new OS. And I haven't gotten to the point where I can lean out the engine. So I have yet to see the true benefits. I can only imagine what OS+FOC equals...

The FOC is a hop up that is rated pretty high up there. The one thing that sucks is that most nitros don't have reverse and T-Maxx owners have to pay for the forward only.:wtf:

I understand what your saying Kal but I understand wjy Traxxas put it in though. The market that truck is mainly focused to people that are very new to the sport. Yes it will please your vet as well as your newb but they included it for ALL the newb's. Traxxas has gotten more people into RC than pretty much anyother company. My friends 2 trx pro .15 T-maxxes are what I saw first and made me want to buy and RC.

That is the same exact thing that got me to buy one, it looked so fun and now I know it is

I know that the truck is more focused for newbies to nitro. I also agree that it is great for vets, just look at all the hop ups and conversions available.

Anyways, what happens to the newbie who can't shift it to reverse and vice versa, because there's too much a load or idle is too high? I think you understand what I'm saying. How is a newbie to nitro going to know this without getting frustrated? I just think that Traxxas should of gave an option of having reverse or not without actually paying more for an FOC. Also having the FOC has less problems.

Just my .02

Big kal, the same thing the I did...... Roast the flywheel
Then go out and buy the foc. It is a dirty world!!! I thought it was so cool to have reverse. But in the end I found out that it wasn't so cool. The foc rocks!!!
