hey guys, i have enough money to get a new engine now. well at least i have engouh toget the hyper 8 port. bu which engine has more torque and high end??? i dont hink there was any threads on these engines before but if there was sorry. but cause if the .25 engine is better than ill go with that cause thats cheaper (with the engine exchange from hpi)thanks
vince

I've never seen an hyper 8 port in a savage..but every savage I've seen with the hpi nitro star .25 is a beast, low end and top end, id go with the .25 IMO...

I run the Hyper .21 8-Port in my Savage and it is plenty fast and powerful. BUT there is no trade for displacement. The .25 is a larger engine and from what I hear is a performer.

What do you have in your Savage, now?

right nw i have the stock .21 bb but i would like more top end and torque.
vince

and plus my friend just got the savage .25 and would like mine to perform better(faster, and more powerful)hehe

I have not run my Hyper against any .25 powered Savages. All I can tell you is that the Hyper .21 8-port is a great engine. Again, the .25 is much larger than the .21. You may also consider saving your pennies and going after the Outlaw .26 or its clone the Wasp .26. Those engines, I have seen in action and they rock. I'm almost ashamed to admit this, but they make my Hyper look small.

at first i was goin for the wasp but then i was lookin around anda lot of people were sayin both the wap and picco are realy hard to tune. and I've heard the hyper 8 port is pretty easy. is it easy?? thanks. cause i would like an easyto tune engine.thanks
vince

The Hyper is a pain to break in. Once properly broken in, it isn't too tough to tune.

You will find that it easily outperforms the NitroStar .21BB that came in the Savage .21, but I have been hearing good things about the NitroStar .25 that comes in the Savage .25 and SS versions. You may find that you get a great engine (which I belive the Hyper .21 8-port to be), but it may still be outperformed by the .25.

Sometimes waiting for the right moment is better than rushing in and finding that you need to drop more coin to keep up. I'll have to let those who have run the Hyper and the .25 side by side give you the benefit of their experience.

ok thanks for al your help skymaxx, ha anyone ran the hpi .25 engine next to the hyper 8 port??? if the slower one is easier to tune and easier to start, thats what i would get, but if the faster is easy to tune and start i would get that of course.
vince

i ran my savage .25 next to a savage that has a hyper .21 8 port.
the hyper .21 sucks side to side next to the .25 . the guy that i race he has tu pull the pullstarter at least 8 times with the glow plug igniter. while the 25 just start in the first or second pull .
so I asked him if it was hard to break in and he said it was a pain in the a$$ . the 25 was easy to break in and to tune I am telling you the .25 it a beast .

ok thanks savageguy, I'm prolly goin with the .25 now. hehe. thanks for all your opinions guys. youve helped me a lot.
