hyper 8 port in savage

a mate of mine as an 8 port in his savage and its worked fine for ages,but just lately it starting to bog.. when he hit full accel it sits there and bogs for a about 2 secons then pics up.
top end is good and we have tryed tuning bottom end a bit and the clutch shoes are fine

i have an 8-port myself, but only has a little over a gallon thru it. I've heard but do not know that hyper 8-port engines do not last very long, like 2-3 gallons on average. how much fuel has gone thru the engine? how does it idle? is it hard to start? you could try to clean the carb and put new o-rings in it...

its had about 5-6 gallons thru it...i idles but not for long... some times it easy to start but some times its hard to start...tryed new plugs

It is probably worn out, how much compression does it have? Can you turn over the flywheel with your pinky? If so it is worn out and you'll need a new piston and sleeve.
