For those of you that don't know, one of the largest hurricanes ever to hit Texas hit landfall last night and is continueing our way. Our damage shouldn't be bad, but there's a good chance that I'll be without power again. One of my houses is already without power, and there's over 2 million people in the Houston are without electricity. Please keep Beason and flm Savage in your thoughts, as well as any other members of ours that are in the Texas area. If you guys don't hear from me for a while, you'll know why.

yeah that sucks, i know a couple people in Texas as well as Beason and Flm, hope you all are safe.

You fellas take care of yourselves now.

WARNING! ! ! ! Charlie is slackin' on his shipping again. :stick:

Take Care buddy :)

I'm prepared this time. The only thing that I haven't shipped is Lessen's stuff. Seems he has a case of smartass-dom today :hehe: Everyone else, your products have been shipped! Lessen, I will get those pictures of me posing in my spiderman undies with my RC's to you as soon as possible. I didn't really think you would send the 5 grand but I guess you really have a thing for spiderman.

everything is cool here. I am in brenham and its been drizzling and a little windy but thats it.

I just talked to hpi_racer he is in huston he said they made it through ok just some property damage.

we left and went to corpus with my father and his family. ike pasted basically directly over my new house..... we live in the clear lake area and are basically strait north of Galveston. i talked with the neighbor and he did a walk around on my place and said all the windows are there and the roof is still up. even the fence stayed and i dont have any trees down. but my mailbox did get taken out. we still dont have power and probably wont for a few days or more. we have the hotel here for one more night and my dads place didnt get any damage so we can stay there if need be. it is pretty bad down there though, Galveston basically sank, they reported 4-8 ft of water on the island from the storm surge. lots of places got damaged in clearlake and down town houston as well. the people i talked to that stayed said there are trees, debris, and stuff everywhere. you can't really go far because the roads are blocked with stuff. I will update when we get back to town and i get internet back. for now we are treating it as a vacation! been to the seawall here and the beach. even this far south the water was so high the waves were crashing on the dunes and splashing over. to all the other peeps in the area, i hope you made it through ok.

My step mom lives in Vidor(something like 20 miles from the coast?). She and kids had evacuated north of Dallas, but her brother stayed behind. He says there really isnt any bad damage at her house and her parents.

Glad everyone seems to be OK with little or no damage, So just out of curiosity is Chalie still baned or has it been lifted since you got your stuff Rolex...LOL!!:hehe::D

It was Woodie that banned me, not Rolex. Mod bans are for kids, I got banned by the admit and site founder. That's not something that just anyone can accomplish. Makin momma proud!:D

Double-dog-damn it. The remains of Ike swept over the MotoGP racing at Indianapolis. They had to ditch the main race at 2 3rds distance because the wind had flattened a couple of the marquees in the in-field and was trying to rip the safety air fencing off the walls. Unbelievably they managed 20 laps on 220+ bhp bikes in soaking conditions. Valentino Rossi even joked in the post-race interview he had to swerve to avoid a flying beer can at one corner :)

And it had been downgraded from a tropical storm by then... Damn I can see why it did so much damage in Texas. I hope everyone's okay and you haven't got too much damage. Also I heard there's been huge amounts of rain in Chicago and surrounding parts too, it looked like they were right under the bad rainfall on the radar I was watching trying to see if it was gonna stop raining at Indy.

my house is in the first pic and ALL of the branches are from my trees except for the house with the green metal roof. those were his trees. damn hurricanes !! i live in the Ohio valley and this is a rare occurrence around here. i was about to go out and do some bashing with the LST ... but Ike had other plans.

All I can say is hurrah for brick houses. If you'd build more of them in the USA you probably wouldn't loose so many of them in the wind ;)

Glad you got away lightly Bobby, did the branch that fell on the neighbour's house do much damage?

no, luckily that brach didnt fall very far, and it just kind of sat down on his house. unfortunately though ... his roof was about a month old !!

i realize that i got off pretty light here, but just wanted to share some of the damage that got us ... even 1000+ miles from where it made landfall. next is rain.

Yup. Indy was right on the very edge of the storm as it passed up through towards Chicago and the 2 hours storm that hit there totally drowned the place. It was a miracle they could even start the MotoGP. If that heavy rain is falling for long periods anywhere, and it looks like it is running in a band up from Texas right to Chicago, with the worst part passing north of Indy heading north-east, then there's gonna be a lot of people getting real intimate with a lot of water this week. The rainfall radar looked plain scary over there, and it doesn't look too great passing back down towards Texas and Louisiana either.
