I have a great life here, a great job, I love to fish(at least three times a week)I have lots of great friends, since I have moved here from Chicago 5 years ago, I have become much more laid back and have been able to enjoy my life with alot less stress than Chicago, something my health really needed, life can be a bitch no matter where you live! Not much you can do about mother nature except deal with it the best you can and hope for the best, this past hurricane was a good learning experience for me, although I feel terrible for all who lost there homes and loved ones in Charly and frances, and yet another (Ivan) on the way, all I can say is Hurricane Schmuricane!! I love Florida, and I always will!!

Save the water that's in your basement. You might have a drought next year.

You really think that's funny? You have any clue how many people lost everything they owned and worked hard for? How much suffering is going on in Florida right now? Any idea how many problems standing water, or any water for that matter will cause inside a home? Next time try thinking before posting something like that.

I second that opinion!!
And now we have to prepare for round three!

At this point it is beyond rediculous! If this even skirts the west coast it will devastate all the areas that have already and still are devastated. The North East side of the storm is always the worst. I am soooo sick of this crap it aint even funny.

I certainly didn't intend to make light of your situation in Florida. Trust me, I know what you are going through. In 1999, when I lived in New York, Hurricane Floyd was our 100 year storm. Trees fell over due to ground saturation, not winds. Several houses in my neighborhood got between 3 and 5 feet of water in the basement. I spent 24 hours non-stop with a floor squeegee and a sump pump to save mine from going under.
The following year, after I had moved, that area had the most severe drought in almost 40 years.

i truely feel for you guys and i somewhat know of how bad it is even though my life may just be starting to get good... in my 14 years I've been through some pretty mean storms like andrew and a few others.i wish for the best and lets just hope for the best. and well... just keep on truckin!
