I keep hearing about these hump backs, what are they, and what websites sell them? Can someone give me a link? Thanks

The hump back of Notre Dame?

Was he not a hunch back??? Sorry, couldn't resist.

"Hump Packs" are a stacked battery configuration--usually a receiver pack. They are usually "A" cells stacked 3-2 and plug into your receiver in place of the "AA" four cell battery holder.

Also note that some rigs take a "flat pack" instead of a hump pack.

Yeah, I have two T-Maxx's. A 3.3, and a 2.5. So I would have to get the flat back rechargable in my case huh? They last longer than standard batteries?

Either one will work, I have a flat pack strapped to my chassis, but I've heard that a hump pack will fit in the batt box.

Has anyone ever posted the dimensions of the different pack configurations?? As mentioned, some are made with A size cells, some with SubC, and some with 2/3A (and probably more configs than that) It'd be cool if the dimensions of each type of pack was listed somewhere?? For instance, the 2/3A hump pack I have is 50mm long, 30mm high, and 29mm wide.. (2/3A 5cell 6v. = 50Lx30Hx29W)

EDIT: NEVER MIND... Tower lists the deminsions of all their packs.. DOH! :)

I upgraded from the stock pack on my Maxx to an HPI 3000mah 5 cell. It's too big for the battery box so I just removed it and siliconed it in, just charge it on the truck, and if at some point I do need to remove it, the silicone wont be a big deal. Yet its strong enough to pick the truck up by. Id say get a pack for sure. Less expensive than all the AA's you'll go through, more power, and less hassle.

Heres the pack glued in, along with the on/off switch which I just stuck to the top of the steering servo with a lil silicone :)
