Hey guys, Get the Savage on Friday and I want to get/install a hump pack and get a charger for it. My question is: What is one of the good ones to buy for both pack and charger. And are they difficult to install. Although new to the sport, I am mechanicaly inclined. Will the LHS have these or do I go thru HPI. Or go thru someone like towerhobbies or all of the above. What am I looking at for average cost? I know theres a high and low end, I need something in the middle to high end. I looked on the search but didn't find to much on the cost of one. Also, Where would a failsafe be installed.

Sorry guys, Put this in the wrong forum..Hope someone will move it to get better hits, WoooodiE!

I just bought a cheapy 1100mah one of ebay for $4.99 and bought a charger for $6.00. Was very easy to install. Just plug it in and go (After its charged of course). The only thing that sucked is I couldnt use the stock switch, so now I have to plug it in everytime I wanna run and unplug it when I'm done instaed of the switch. But eventually Ill wire a new switch in. But other than that, there really nice and easy.

Your LHS should have some on hand. If ya stick to one of the more common brands you should be good. (Unless ya can find the setup for $10 like me, then its worth a shot..lol). They normally hover in the $20 range give or take a couple bucks for both.

You should have no problem getting a 5 cell hump pack at your LHS. I would suggest getting a NMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) as apposed to NC (nickel cadmium). NMH is more forgiving when it comes to charging. and try to get a minimum of 1400Mah.
as far as a failsafe it will connect between your receiver and Throttle/brake servo and will fit in the radio box

Threads (from two locations merged) and moved to Savage section where the Savage nuts can give you some answers.
