I have a Savage X4.6 and I was looking to get a Spektrum DX3E Radio. I still have the standard AA battery pack in it now so I plan to upgrade that also. My question is what hump pack do I get? And also do I have to modify anything in order for it to fit? And lastly I just have a cheap Piranha peak power battery charger. Will this charger work for the hump packs? Thanks, Eric

Type "5 cell hump pack" on ebay and you'll see what you need. Throw a link up here if you want conformation. You need a charger that is 5 cell compatible and charges at around 1 amp. .8 to 1.2 amps would be fine.

I found what I needed now thanks for the reply. Also I need to buy a new motor and saw that they have the hpi k4.6 motor on ebay for 109. Should I go with the 4.6 or is there a better motor for around that price? I had a OS 30 motor in it previously but it got a bunch of sand in the motor and now its shot. I'm not looking to spend 250 on another motor until I get more experienced in RC.

Eric

The F4.6 and K4.6 are both good motors, or you can get a Losi 454 (LRP .28 Spec 3) for around $150-$160. There are plenty of other good engines out there too, for a decent price, just depends on what you want, and how much you want to spend.

The lrp .28 spec3 is alright for a savage x. I had it in mine and it ripped pretty good!
