Since I already had the front end of my Savage torn apart to install the MP Servo Saver I decided it was time to install a hump pack with an onboard charge jack. That way I don't have to bother taking the cover off.

The first thing I had to do was relocate the switch. The reason for this is because I wanted the charge jack to sit there. Since I don't plan on installing reverse in my Savage this was a perfect place.

Now I could install the charge jack where the switch used to be. I had to use a utility blade to shave some plastic off to make it fit.

I was happy with the location but it wasn't very secure. I didn't have any nuts for screws this small and I wasn't sure if anything existed. So what I ended up doing was tearing apart the old switch and cutting the metal ears off to use at "nuts." It worked perfectly.

Here is a picture of me getting ready to stuff everything in under the cover.

Here is a picture of the final result with just the charge jack showing.

ill get a pic a post it later but thanks for the good pics and run though

All I need to do is stick my finger thru the TVP on the left side. It's pretty easy to get to. Even with my fat fingers!

thanks for the great pics and steps to do it. but about the small nuts, (the nuts for the screws) i got some really smal ones at my lhs about 3 weeks ago. they were pretty small. i dont know what they were called but I'm just letting you know some eexist.
