alright guys I've had my hump pack for about 6 months and it has completely died and can't get a charge out of it, is this common with the hump packs or is there something I'm over looking, i have hooked up the battery straight into the receiver but still nothing so i hooked up my old 4 cell number and that got everything up and running so it seems it is most definately the hump pack, any ideas or suggestions are welcome, it was the traxxas hump pack not an after market
Pick up a couple of new ones. How were you charging it? Did you use a volt meter and see if there is any juice in it at all? If it's completely dead, it's probably shot. Nimhs should never be drained to less than .9 volts per cell.

i am using the reccommended traxxas charger and i dont have a volt meter to check it out but its not even 6 months old, i dont want to be wasting money on another one if its going to do the same thing again
How drained do you let the pack get? You should stop and charge it as soon as you notice a decrease in performance. Some batteries go bad faster than others, even with proper care. So the battery in question is a traxxas pack and the power pack charger? My trx pp charger false peaks all the time, though it is quite old. The trx batteries are not the greatest either. I'd pick up a tenergy rx pack, and charge it sitting out in the open. That way you can observe how warm it gets when the charger indicates it's done charging. If the charger says the battery is charged, and the battery is cool to the touch, it isn't charged. You wanna make sure the battery isn't getting too hot as well, as this leads to premature battery failure.
I use a Venom hump pack in my Savage cause that's what came in it. I bought the truck used so I have no idea how old it is or how many charge cycles it's been through but it seems to work just fine and i agree that Traxxas batteries are not all that great. So you may look into getting one of those. I use the Energizer advanced Lithium batteries in my T-MAXX and it seems to like those pretty well but they are expensive so I'm gonna switch to the rechargeable ones when these run out.
