i have a hpi/rs4 mt stadium truck running on an element/team orion 19 turn, spec mod motor. the problem is, the battery that I'm using, epic 3000 nimh, and a promatch gp 3300 ultra, (both are 6 cell) are draining too fast. the wires from the battery to the motor are approx. 4 inches long, which could be adding resistance, i soldered 20 AWG wire to the original wire from the speed control, because they wouldnt reach the motor(the solder joint is solid). i pluged in the 4-double A battery pouch into the servo controler, but it didnt seem to register it being plugged in. in other words with out the battery pack installed i didnt get servo response even with the 4 AA plugged in. Is this normal? Ineither case with the battery, it only lasts for about 45 seconds before i notice a huge decrease in power. i use an intellipeak pulse charger from duratrax to charge the cell batteries. i use the peak charge setting on it to max out the power in the batteries. i dont know what is causing the short life span of the batteries. since I'm a newb to electric rc, i have no idea if it could be the type of charger i am using, too powerful of motor, or something isnt set up right with the speed control, etc. if any information could help me solve this problem please let me know. ty.

First off, what is the run time that you are getting?
Check for rolling resistence. Make sure that you wheels can roll freely, any resistance will eat up runtime.
How new/old is your motor?
What type of connectors are you using?
