What's up everyone. This is my first post and I just wanted to say Hi. I finished my Savage SS a couple of weeks ago and used the heat cycling method to break it in that I found on this site. I already have 17 tanks through it and the thing is unreal(I've waited forever for an MT kit like this) I love it!. OK to the point already-- I just picked up the Feb. edition of Xtreme RC Cars and there's a little article on pg. 30 about a company named "Rock Concepts" that is making a Savage chassis designed for racing. It lowers the engine a 1/2 inch and moves it forward a little(it didn't say how much) for better balance. A guy named John Schultz used this chassis at the Baja Nitro Challenge and won the T-Maxx class(Monster Truck) with his Savage! Page 193 of the same issue has the standings of all the classes. I would've posted the articles if I had a scanner--sorry, and sorry for the long post. Just wanted share.
Anyways, all I can say is SUHWHEET!!

 :dancin:

Welcome to RCNT. Glad you are enjoying your truck. AND Thank you for posting the news about the Savage win. Just one more reason for Savage owners to be happy with their purchase.

I'm kinda interested in the chassis you speak of?!?!? Sounds like a sweet setup! Do you have a link or an address to the company that makes it?

There was no web address or any info on how to get in touch with the people that make the chassis. The company's name is "Rock Concepts." I've never heard of them before. It was just a little teaser article in the "New products/news/sneak peak" section in the beginning of the Mag so they're probably not on the market yet. I did go to the magazine's web site and emailed them to see if they could give me more info because I'm very interested in getting one. I'll post if i get some useful info.

whats up everyone. Just wanted to update anyone who is interested in those chassis's. This is the website rockconcepts

I'm going to call tommorrow to see what the price is.

a friend of mine just built a new ss kit and added this chassis in the build process. he was going for a stock 'sleeper' savage by using this chassis and getting the stock .25 mill modded by rb mods. so much for that idea. all it takes is a quick glance at the truck to see that something is definately different. the truck has a really good stance and the center driveshafts are level. seems like he said the price was $160. he brought it out this evening for initial break-in so i got some wheel time w/ it. omg that thing was nice. i dont think handling could be any better on any other truck out there. even with the stock tires/wheels it was a dream to drive and it seemed impossible to flip over.

for any of you who race your savage- get this chassis- you will not be sorry. driving is believing.

Way to use the search function, this thread is 8 days short of a year old.

Got any pics?

I have the Vertigo Performance race this chassis plates and I love them. I would recomend a lowered chassis to anyone who is racing. With my Mach and my lowered chassis I can hang with the buggies now most of the time

Would you rather have the Vertigo performance or rock concepts plates? I have been looking for some plates with lower COG but there are now at least 3 to choose from. I am a litle bothered that I havent seen any pictures of the rockconcepts ones.

I have seen pics of all 3 of them and I will say this. I think any way you go you will not be disapointed. I personaly really like my Vertigo Performance plates.

If you plan on buying lowered tvp's give skipster a shot. His work is outstanding..
I think he goes by skip on this forum..

Ya, I'm pretty intersted in the rock-concepts TVP's, especially if they are a big improvement like I've heard, now if there was only a track where I could kick some ass. There was a sweet track near my old house in IL that the Kyosho Challenge was held at, but now I've moved to VA, and there's no off road tracks near here, but if anyone here is a VA local and knows of any tracks in the Fairfax and Manasses areas that'd be great.
