I use Sky LiPos in my Slash as well. Although I only use 2s and I find that to be more than enough for what I use it for.

Sky LiPo 5000mAh 40C 2s

As of late, I have moved away from Sky and started using gensacearespammers. They're a couple bucks more expensive, but they are ROAR approved and (I think) a little better than the Skys

Of course, both of those manufacturers offer the same thing in 3s. If you want to cut costs a little more, you could go with a soft case for a little bit less, or get one with a lower C rating (Sky LiPo 20C batteries sell for as little as $20). Or you could get one that has less mAh, but that will mean less runtime.

As far as radio systems go, I would check this out: http://www.hobbypartz.com/79p-gt3b-carradio-lcd.html. Definitely better than the stock system, and you can't beat the price. I have one myself, and so far it's been great - and it has a lot of mice features you won't find with the stock system (dual rates, expo, digital trim, 10 model memory, GIANT LCD screen, 3rd channel, etc...) Plus, if you are going to order that and batteries from hobbypartz, you would probably come out ahead buying everything in one place.

DO NOT go with a lower C rating for a high performance brushless set up. Go with a minimum of 30c for that set up. A lower C rating can damage the esc.

The batteries I linked to were 40c, so technically 30c is lower...
I wouldn't buy anything lower than 40c myself, but if saving a few bucks is a necessity, going a little lower on the c rating will do it.

I run the Sky Lipos in mine too. 3s 5000mah 40c 80c...the truck is insane fast. i got them from hobbypartz as well. buy the thunder ac6 dual power charger while you're on there. its a great charger for the money.

Thanks for getting back to me with that info! Those Sky Lipos look great and I am getting a 500mAH 3s 40c but the Sky Lipos wouldn't fit the battery spot would they? Their Dimensions are too wide.
