yes it is.., actually the only thing that i know that i have to buy is the slide carb linkage from hpi. but i am not sure if the flywheel and motors mounts will work. if you now something i really apreciate.

I am only worry about tha size of the .15 engines, because i want to be sure that my starter box work with the engine without changing the flywheel and the motor mounts.

thanks.

I installed a O.S. 15 hyper cvx, and I used the stock mounts and flywheel on that. I now run a RB C12 Turbo w/the lower engine mounts and lighter non pull start flywheel. With my OS, stock mounts, and flywheel, I was able to use the starter box.

If you're keeping the same mounts and flywheel from your pullstart, it should work. The guys at Ultimate Hobbies tell me that 12 and 15 size motors will mount on any touring car. The only thing is that your center of gravity will be high. It's best if you get the lower mounts and smaller flywheel.

Hi NCNitro,

I respect that you are entitled to your opinions, that I have no problem with.

But your approach is also somewhat "juvinile"...

The mods need to work a little harder there, seems all they do is talk amongst themselves in all the threads

How did you work that out, the mods on our board work hard to ensure things run smoothly, they are strict but fair. They make sure everyone gets a fair chance and make sure no user is allowed to take advantage of the forum.

I was truly disappointed, it just seems to have a very immature member base.

I don't see how you work this out, most our members are sensible and offer sound advice, there is a minority but unfortunately this is something to expect when a board grows.

The site navagation also sucks

Again your opinion, but I don't see how it is much different to this forum as it follows a similar trend. Main forum links at the header of the forum with Profile, Members, Search etc. You haven't backed up your statement, something you tend not to do in your post.

I have browsed this board many a time and my first impressions were good. A nice commnunity with alot to offer with a a well organised and sound webmaster. I am quite dissappointed you have to bad mouth another board, with quite frankly no good reason. What makes things worse is that you are meant to set a good example which you are clearly not.

Great first post here Blackman  How is my post juvenile? First off I posted that BEFORE I was a mod here. Second I merely stated my opinion of your site, and it is still my opinion, and your first post here just serves to reinforce it. Did I attack you on the public forums on your site? No, I PMed you privately, asked to have my profile and username removed, explained why, and you did not seem to care or even bother to respond to me nor did you do what I requested. You are imo the one acting juvenile, if you have a problem with me there is no need to attack me in the public forum, thats juvenile. Maybe you should try acting a little more responsible, I would expect more out of a forum admin than to take something of this nature to the public forums. If you feel the need to discuss this further please use the appropriate channels. And YES, I am entitled to my opinions, which is all it was, my opinion of how I viewed your site. I am sorry if you took offense to that. Anyway, thank you, and welcome to RC Nitro Talk.

the slide carb linkage came in the kit with the SS. If your switching from the type r 12 to a non pullstart engine then you will want to change to the lo profile motor mounts and the lighter flywheel for performance reasons the motor mounts will lower your C.O.G. and the flywheel will let it rev faster but the stock ones will work. the .12 and the .15 blocks are the same size.

Centax Clutch for Nitro RS4 Type SS

Hey all I have an SS with the new Trx 2.5 in it. I saw that some of you were having a hard time finding a Centax Clutch for it. Well your wait is over I have found one and I love it. It only costs $60 too thats the best part. If anyone wants one email me at [email protected]

I have switched out two engines for my SS, a 15 OS and now a RB concepts C12. I would strip gears when I gear high (39/41, 37/41 spur gears) when I used the lower mounts and flywheel. If you're using the stock gears, 47/43, you should be fine with the lower mounts. However, if you're going to gear high I suggest using the stock mounts and flywheel.

I am trying a new setup where I'm taking out the lower mount on the tranny case. This should bring my spur gears down 2 or 3 mm. I should be able to use the lower mounts and smaller flywheel. But I just setup the car, I didn't run it yet. I'll let you guys know if it works.

thats interesting. was there a problem with not being able to move the motor over enough? i'm curious as to what the problem could have been

have you checked that the gears don't stick out the bottom of the chassis? I'd probably cover the hole in the chassis with some of that protective tape that they have. Let me know how it works out

btw has anyone seen anything about the wolfpack radicals motor mounts that will mount any size motor (yes even a big block) in a Shaft drive rs4?

Well my setup didn't work, so I went back to the stock mounts, reinstalled the lower mount to the tranny case. My problem is that if I use the lower mounts the gears (pinion and spur) don't have a tight fit. If it were the stock gears, there wouldn't be a problem. I want to use the 37/41 spur gears.

Wolf pack does make the motor mounts for a engine up to 21 size for the RS4 3. Wolfgang over there doesn't recommend it. But he has adjustable mounts with a flywheel. I have the Wolfpack 2 speed on my RS4 3 and it works good.

so basically the crank center line is to low for the amount of side to side movement the chassis allows. would there be anything else in the way of the motor getting close enough?i'd take the bottom screws out of the motor mounts and see if the motor will move over enouth to get the proper mesh and if it does it's time to notch the chassis for more adjustment. you follow me or am i just  ?

Yeah, I did move the engine to as far inside towards the spur gears. But when you use the 37/41 spur gears, it's just not as tight as using the 41/45. I can grind out the punchout holes in order to get the engine towards the center. But both my chassis are so bashed up. I don't want to try to use my dremel on them.

what better chassis to use then a boogered up one? then you knowhow much to take it on a new one.

Well my super chassis, which is bent, has a piece of the stamped out metal broken off. If I do grind it out I'll go too far in the middle and the engine will not align. As for my second chassis, I don't want to mess it up since I'm on the budget.
