HPI R40 vs NTC3

Well, I was all about the NTC3, but I started looking deeper and noticed that I could get the R40 for only $40.00 more. It seems to be a way better car. The fact that it is belt driven and more of a pure bred racer. Am I right in my assumptions about these two cars? Belt driven is alot better, correct??:thumbsup: I just want to get the best car for my money. I really appreciate any input, because as you can tell I am a :n00bie: when it comes to nitro. THanks guys

if you are only racing, either will be very good. the R40 will probably allow for slightly faster lap times, but unless u are very good at driving, you wont notice the difference much. go with the one that you have the easiest parts support for.

I was considering get the R40 but my LHS had a bigger NTC3 support then the ANY CAR. WHen the R40 came uout I wanted to trade my NTC3. I don't race just bash around thats it. For bashing the NTC3 is great since it is shaft driven and the R40 is belt driven. Belt driven is more for the serious racer as lil pebbles are it's enemy and bashing you see those many times. I had the opportunity to drive the GT-4 and its spur gear is like a cavity infected mouth..chipped

cavity infected mouth? what? Do you mean that the spur gear is holy?

Sweet maxx~ what I mean is that bashing with a BELT DRIVEN TRANNY as opposed to a SHAFT DRIVEN TRANNY is more prone to damage as little pebbles can easily hurt your spur gear and belt(s). Sorry bout that.. bad example.LOL. Again belt driven rides are known to put out more speed but Shaft driven is just know for their durabilty.

Gotta make sure you have everything secure also cause these belts seem to suck everything in.
