HPI or Clone

You get what you pay for by buying a clone.

I personally wouldnt take a chance on such a big purchase at buying a clone. Thats a lot of coin so Id go with the real deal.

Thread moved from Intro forum and renamed.

The people i have talked to with a clone ended up spend the same as buying a genuine HPI after replacing the parts that failed right out of the box. Spend the money and buy HPI. You can find good deals on used bajas too.

if you BUY a clone get the KING motor they are just as good as the HPI buggy.. all rc's need improvements out of the boxes..;) I had a HPI and it took alot $$$ to get it "almost" bullet proof... your better off buying the clone and adding your own hop-ups and saving money..:p:

I was in the same boat as you. I didn't know if I should buy a clone or not, once I saw the Baja 5Sc it was all over I went out and bought it. I have had nothing but HPI's in the past besides my Tamiya, I love HPI IMO I think HPI is the best out there.:first_place:

Pay me now or pay me later. Buy the time you upgrade the phony bolony to what you want you"ll probally spend more! Do it right the first time saves you money for more toys!:D HPI=:first_place:

People always have friends of friends who have had a rubbish clone but the one I have has never gave me a problem but my %T and%BSS have had a shed loads of parts replaced.Ask people who have had the KM or Rovan what they think, all the lads I bash with are 100% for a decent clone model.;)
