would this be ok on short grass and dirt/gravel etc?

i was thinkin about a savage but this MT2 looks liek it'd be more fun. i like fast things that handle good so i figured thi swould be better than a big savage...and its cheaper so i could get better radio/servos for it.

what do u all think? what kind of ground clearance does it have?

My MT2 has no problems on week old grass (hasnt been mowed in a week) and is a blast at the local BMX track. I have a set of tires for pavement (so I dont tear up my dirt works) and it runs nice on pavement as well. Handles nice once you get the suspension tuned in.

If you want to justs beat the thing, the savage can't be beat enough though :)

If cost is an issue, and you want a nice well rounded RC to play with - the MT2 is nice IMO.

It is a nice truck, but beef up the tranny if you plan to drop a beastly .18 in the MT2 truck.

Almost have a quart through my 18SS and havent had any issues with the tranny

Rook is talking about the 18SS kit anyway - so theres no need to change anything.

i was thinkin about the savage but a ST seems it'd be more fun for like the track/road etc.

we are building a track in my friends backyard so it will see track time...and i may one day(read:become a good driver) take it to a local track.

it will probalby see a bmx course lol, or skate park to...see if i can grind with it lol

Yeah I was referring to the MT2, not the SS. SS has the upgraded diffs, so you shouldnt see problems with it. The main issue I'd greatly worry about is how tiny that cooling head is and how hot that engine likes to run (on the SS). That plastic restrictive pipe could use an upgrade too.
