This information comes from HPI Japan website and it appears, from all descriptions, that this is a drift conversion for the HPI RS4 3 nitro touring car. The engine, radio gear and the two-speed transmission are moved as far forward as possible, increasing steering response and reducing rear traction. Shifting the weight forward on the chassis will make it much easier to pitch the rear of the car around during drifting maneuvers. There's no information concerning this product making it to the States or elsewhere, but it's a cool conversion so here it is! If you like what you see, let the people at HPI USA know that you'd be interested. For more information, visit the HPI Racing website.

looks cool

nitro13,

pretty cool for for ppl that are interested in drifting but would it be easier and cheaper just to go out and buy a set of yoko drifting wheels and rubber??

That is definitely a cool find!! Any ideas on the cost of this conversion? What it all comes with?

I went to the HPI Japan website shortly after this was posted seeking more info,after a long search all I found was whats posted here. I'm gonna contact HPI USA and see if I can get more info.

I still havnt got a reply from HPI USA on this, Ill let yall know if I do hear anything.

I definitely wanna see how well this works-I have yet to come across rubber drift tires that work well.

Edit: The kit comes with the following:
* Drift main chassis
* Front upper plate
* Upper deck
* Exhaust manifold
* Servo mount
* Stage-D tire & wheel (26mm/30mm)
* 200mm body (other than #33432)

Hmmm i may have some use for hte left over parts from the rally conversion

that's pretty sweet, makes a lot of sense to make the changes that the conversion does. I like the idea of a conversion kit.

I also think it's cool^^ But how about just removing the front drive shafts, turning the car into a rear 2WD? I noticed that real life drifters are FR cars(Front engine, Rear drive) so I thought that turning the car into 2WD might work...

it would work better Doggie. Ideally, the types of cars easiest to drift are Front engine mounted rear wheel drive which are only slightly overpowered (too much Hp makes it harder to control the drift, just need enough to rear end loose)

Thanks Lessen^^ Hmmm, I think I would just take off the front shafts and put on some hard tyres when I feel like drifting...
