HPI nitro drift build #2

For those who have been following my stage-d build, it isn’t news that I’m building the “RTR” version of HPI’s nitro drift car. I felt it was time to give it its own thread

It started with me scoring this beautiful rare carbon drift upper deck

I cleaned it up and added some spare servos and fuel tank until I can get some better ones

I had this OS21VG lying around with the overdose drift pipe and hpi big block motor mounts

So I slapped a car together using spare parts I had, and this is how it stayed until I can get around to completing it

I made some small progress by finding a brand new titanium grey chassis plate

And swapped it with the purple one

I even added some titanium grey aluminum standoffs

Got them up front too, along with this carbon fiber brace

This is just stage 1 of the depurplification process, more updates coming in the future..

Spent a lot of time looking for the perfect shocks for this car, and a lot more time finding some rare parts to make them real. Here’s everything I sourced

titanium coated shafts
Sustex adjustable height caps
Rc926 dress up kit
Reve D perches etc

Only had time to assemble one
