Hi, I'm having a real problem with my firestorm. When the engine is cold the car runs ok, accelerates fine, high top speed. But as it gets hotter the car accelerates very very slowly or the engine just spins even if I increase the throttle, within the car moving much. Could it be the clutch slips when the engine gets hot? Or is it compression goes when hot? The engine is quite hard to turn over by pullstart and pops nicely, so wondering whether it could be the clutch. Have never had this kind of problem before and no idea what to do next. Any ideas?

It sounds like the clutch is slipping pull it apart and see how worn it is. another thought is a bad bearing in the drive train that is getting hot locking up and causing the clutch to slip.Seek and you will find.:D

Haven't taken it apart yet but tried the car a few times and each time when it cools down it goes ok, just when the heat goes up it just slows and at the end just spins

Check clutch first.:D It's not going to fix itself.

Check your slipper, my mgt did the same thing it ended up menting my spur gear
