my LHS got there shipment of HPI EVO RTR BMW.... $325... not bad.. with a 2 speed, roto start, new T-15 engine and electronics... that is pretty good deal...

I will never buy a On-road HPI Ready to run car ever. Because they relsease the RTR and then a month later they release a SS version of that same car, and its a kit, with better stuff in it.

so what? and your pissed at hpi for making more then one version?
would you rather they never make a better or different version?

sounds more like you are pissed at yourself for the version you bought .

i say you have a pretty good deal and there is no use waiting for months to see if they are going to come out with another type, if they do. as long as your happy with what you got, you can always upgrade

uhhh... that's why it's a SS... different version... plus the EVO RTR 3 has all the hop ups on it.. are you mad that HPI also made the Savage 21, then the Savage SS, finally the Savage 25...

Honestly if the new RTR has a two speed in it plus comes with the roto start than I say it's better than the SS version that will follow it if it in fact does. I know it is a better deal than the RS4 3SS for sure. The SS I bought had not any of the radio or anything like that and I spent a great deal of money on the car to make it fun for me. A 15 engine that is not the fe is a killer bonus too. Think I paid $290.00 for mine, that's what I get for getting it at hobbytown though.

Kwong this is true the RS4 is dated very much. I do however see it as a great way for newbie's to get into the sport. I am not too sure of too many experienced hobbyists that would buy it. LOL I had to find out that I couldn't race with my SS the very expensive way. Oh well I'm still happy with it. Later
