I recently ordered a set of pro-line bowties and hot bodies wheels for my t-maxx off of ebay, and instead of the bowties, the seller sent me a set of HPI dirt bonz. They are brand new in the package, and they look exactly like the bowties, and I am thinking about just keeping them, as he has already agreed to refund the couple dollar difference if I was willing to just keep them. Does anybody here have experience with the dirt bonz and how they measure up to the bowties? thanks
Jared Williamson

oh yeah, I forgot to add that the track I race on is a very hard mixture of clay/sand, and is usually dry at the time that I am on it, which is what I was hoping these would hook up on way better than the stock chevron-pattern tires

well i have a set of both tires and the dirt bones are nothing like bowties when racing the bowties have no flex and are a low profile and the dirt bones are taller and they have way to much flex if it was me i would send then back and get the bowties for sure

yeah the flex is a big issue....the bowties are a softer compound too and I beleive they have more TPI....

plaid, that set of tires that you let me run that one time, they were bowties, were they regular bowties or 40 series?

regular ones....w/ dual stage foams in them...that also makes a difference in them....little more bouncy but in the softer sections you won't mush out from the tire....and it keeps the sidewall flex down for better cornering.....

ok, this really sucks because now they want me to pay for shipping to return the items that they sent me that were wrong in the first place. bah humbug

Thats B.S they screwed up not you. I had a similar thing happen to me and I told them I would ship back there items when they sent me the cost of shipping but this was just a guy selling some of his used stuff, and not a regular rc seller which should be thinking of customer service if they plan on having a good buisness Imo .

Yeah, they haven't responded to the e-mail I sent them a few min. ago asking for a reimbursement of shipping costs yet, but the seller sells all kinds of rc stuff and has a feed back score of like 5000 with only 50 negs so I would imagine he will follow through, I am not too worried yet, just bummed I won't have my new baloneys for the track this weekend.

Yeah that would suck all I have is the stock tires :( but all I do is back yard bashing havent raced but would like to give it a try.

yeah, I don't race either, I can hardly make a lap without crashing, but the track on stock tires is like playing football on ski's, it just doesn't go. The stock tires look cool, but when it comes to the track, they suck

Since they are a soft compound, I'm sure they wouldnt last long at all on the asphalt.. gravel either...

i have bowties and they are good on dirt but they do wear down on asphalt.

later,
tyler
