Has anybody else been haveing trouble with hpi's customer service? They have had my transmission for my savage since December 15th. the first time i talked to somebody they said that they were waiting on the idler gear. a week later they said the gears were comeing the next day. last wednesday they told me it was fixed and that they were shipping it out ups ground. i called today to find out that it just got fixed today and is being shipped out tomorrow. Lets see at this rate i should have it around christmas.

Ya hpi always tends to do that. I tried that before and i didnt get my part for 4 months. Hopefully you get yours faster.

That's why you send them the broken part and fix it yourself.

You gotta learn to work on your own car.

i am beginning to think i should have. just didn't have the money to buy all new gears for the tranny. every gear was eaten up and it was binding.

Yeah but you can still send the broken parts and have them send you new ones. That way you have less of a chance of downtime.

i am just tired of being told it is being shipped tomorrow and a week later being told it is being shipped tomorrow. i was fine with the answer the parts are on order for it. they really messed up something when they put it together the first time though. to start with they forgot the eclip on the input shaft and second it would bind when the case was screwed together tight but if you would loosen it up it would spin freely so i figured 1 of the shafts was machined wrong so i sent it in

Yeah I agree with Kwong a little bit you send them broken parts with a picture of how many HPI cars you own in my case three and they send you back new ones and some extra stuff at taht. Newayz also send them a nice letter about how frickin good they are and you are more likely to get better service that way. Late

I had my RTR 3 tuned by them since it couldn't hold a tune. THey said that there was a leak "somewhere". WTF? Well 3 weeks later I went down to pick it up and the damn thing ran well for a bout 3 min then thecrappy idle wen to hell, the acceleration was horrible. I refused to pay them since the car was the same as I left it with them. Turns out there was a gasket leak on the carb and a new one fixed it. Well I sold that car and I will never EVER have HPI work on a ride of theirs like a Savage that I am hoping to get soon!!

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. When I got my Savage .25 (one of the early ones) the back plate came loose and screwed up my motor. When I called them up, they told me to send it in and they would fix it. I had it back in about a week. I thought they did a great job. They just didn't send me any extras, dammit.
